Swindler has struck the crossbar in both starts thus far and should give another good account under talented Frenchman Gerald Mosse, who was seen at his brilliant best in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp over the weekend, but MOHAATHER gets the nod. There was lots to like about his debut second behind a well-backed favourite at Newbury and normal improvement will see him go very close. Alfred Boucher improved from his first to second start and is respected, while Aluqair and Eufemia are both interesting newcomers.

Almurr was only beaten two lengths in class 2 company at Haydock last time and he must enter calculations dropped in grade off a 1lb lower mark, but preference is for handicap debutant AUTUMN FLIGHT. Tim Easterby's charge has done little wrong in three starts thus far, finishing third in a hot novice stakes event at Catterick latest (winner touched off in stronger company next time), and he potentially looks a fair bit better than this opening mark of 76. Daphinia and She Can Boogie are others to keep an eye on.

ALNADIR shaped with lots of promise on his debut over 7f at York and possibly wasn't in love with the Tapeta surface, and/or didn't get home, over 1m2f at Kempton last time. Back in trip, on turf, with cheekpieces fitted, he is fancied to open his account at the third time of asking. Amorously has shown enough in previous starts to suggest that she can get involved at the finish, while 125,000gns purchase Eagles By Day is worth a market check at least ahead of his introduction.

Tempus and Surfman are both bred to have plenty of ability and powerful connections will no doubt be expecting big runs from their respective newcomers, but with a run under his belt, MIND THE CRACK rates the one to beat on this occasion. The son of Jukebox Jury was weak in the betting market ahead of his racecourse debut at Kempton, and ran green throughout, so the fact that he got within a neck of victory was a fantastic effort. That experience certainly won't have been lost on him and another bold bid looks assured.

Sophosc has to be given the utmost respect following his hat-trick of victories in recent months but a 6lb penalty for his success at Lingfield last week leaves him vulnerable. With that in mind, preference is for PREFONTAINE, who has improved with every start to date and he may be underestimated by an opening mark of 78. Cape Islay failed to fire at Beverley last time out but is a player based on her previous Epsom victory, while Jacko and Ventura Bay could also make the frame.

CLIMB ABOARD has only been narrowly beaten in his last couple of starts but the return to handicap company can see the son of Mayson get off the mark. Global Melody finished a place behind the selection last time out and he has to be of interest on his handicap debut. Others to consider are Pursuing Steed and Zamandas.

RECORDMAN did not appear to get home over an extended 1m4f last time out but he had previously accounted for a subsequent dual winner over this trip at Chelmsford. Lunar Jet has run well multiple times since his win at Newbury back in April and he could give the selection plenty to think about, despite carrying top weight. El Ghazwani is an unexposed three-year-old who arrives here following a career-best effort and he may have more improvement left to come.

LOPITO put in a career best when finishing a close second at Windsor last time out and that form suggests he can win a race of this nature. His chances are also boosted because he may find some improvement for the application of a first-time tongue tie. Misu Pete has been running well for a number of months now and he should be in the mix once again, along with Crimson Skies and Bayston Hill.
