LIKE A TIGER displayed plenty of promise when only narrowly beaten on his racecourse debut over a mile at Newmarket last month. The son of Farhh should only benefit from that experience and he could be hard to beat. That said, Fox Journey also caught the eye on his first start and it would be no surprise to see him take a big step forward. Sea Master is another with valid form claims, while Artistic Star is a newcomer to note.

Nader King is the pick of those with race experience but, while he is likely to improve, he doesn't set a particularly high standard. With that in mind, a chance be taken with KING OF STEEL, who cost 200,000 dollars as a yearling and he is closely related to plenty of winners. Twoforthegutter showed enough at a breeze-up sale earlier in the year for connections to part with 155,000 euros to purchase him, while Mr Boson is another who should not be underestimated.

ASHTANGA put in a performance that was full of promise when finishing third at Salisbury late last month and the daughter of Nathaniel should take plenty of beating if improving for that experience. Dubai Crystal and Khinjani are also entitled to improve for their racecourse debuts but the main threat to the selection may prove to be Shazam. Ralph Beckett's newcomer cost 140,000 euros as a yearling and she is out of a Group 1-winning mare.

HERNAN CORTES ran his best race to date when finishing second on his handicap debut at Newcastle last month and can go one better if handling these softer conditions on his return to turf. Mickey Donovan put his disappointing effort at Salisbury behind him with a good second-placed finish at Yarmouth 29 days ago and he shaped like this extra distance would suit. Manuha and Orchestra also arrive in good form.

Precisely ran as well as expected in a Listed event at Yarmouth last month and she merits respect now returning to handicap company. The lightly-raced MARHABA THE CHAMP gets the nod, however, and could have more to come after winning with authority on his handicap debut at Hamilton 16 days ago. Mr Alan now drops in class after a narrow defeat at Ayr, with last-time-out winners First Impression and Cumulonimbus also worthy of consideration.

California Gem ran well above market expectations when she finished second at Newmarket 11 days ago and she will no doubt find this easier if she copes with dropping back to the minimum trip. LOVE AFFAIRS has more scope at this stage and she could be hard to master if she can take a step forward from her breakthrough win at Goodwood last month. Camila Vargas could also figure.

Fast Response has made the frame in three of her 10 starts this season and is likely to be popular in the betting. However, a chance is taken on the less-exposed PARISIAC, as he seems at his best when allowed to set his own tempo and it's feasible he could have things sewn up by the time the closers deliver their challenge. Lord Riddiford is adaptable regarding a pace preference, so he too merits consideration, while Monsieur Kodi shouldn't be underestimated.

Tim Easterby has maintained a healthy strike-rate this season and he can land another pot with WADE'S MAGIC, who is still on a handy mark despite winning an the all-weather at the end of August. The gelding overcame an awkward start to finish a close second at Ripon on his latest outing and may do better yet now he drops back to the minimum trip. Shesadabber is holding her form and can also be expected to go well, while Captain Corcoran is also respected.
