Nazik is the only one with a victory to his name after winning at Chepstow last month, but concedes weight all round as a result and has failed to land a serious blow in two subsequent outings. The one to beat looks to be MISTER BLUE SKY, who finished well clear of the rest when chasing home a couple of useful-looking sorts over this C&D a fortnight ago and there should be more to come. Market support for any of the newcomers would be interesting, especially the David Elsworth-trained Ivor's Magic.

There should be no need to look past PERIGEE here. In a weak maiden, he sets a clear standard with a mark of 80 and his silver medal finishes the last twice, including over C&D latest, stand out in this modest contest. John Gosden's charge can finally get off the mark, possibly at the main expense of Proctor and Wallangarra, who were separated by just a length when fifth and sixth respectively over a mile at Haydock last time out.

DE VEER CLIFFS made a really encouraging debut over the extended 1m here in October and that form has worked out very well, with six of those behind going on to score since and the winner, Architecture, finishing second in the Oaks. A half-sister to five winners, including useful 1m4f winner Monotype, Martyn Meade's filly should relish the step up to 1m2f and is fancied to make a winning return. Pleasure Dome went very close in a Goodwood maiden before being out of his depth in a Newbury Listed event and looks most likely to capitalise if the selection needs the run. Torquay showed promise when third at Lingfield first time out and warrants respect.

Pickett's Charge has strong claims on his good fourth off this mark in a 16-runner Thirsk handicap last week but that came on fast ground and the forecast testing conditions may be more to the liking of CARBUTT'S RIDGE. Karl Burke's gelding returned from four months off the track with a close-up third at Hamilton with give underfoot eight days ago and won't have to find much - if anything - on that form to land this contest. Upped in trip and dropped 3lb from his handicap bow, Bit Of A Quirke is interesting.

Three good runs in defeat in competitive handicaps at HQ, Chelmsford and York give Escalating obvious claims here and both of his wins came on soft ground. However, the better value may lie with TIMES LEGACY, who landed a heavy-ground Doncaster maiden on his second start last November. He was slightly disappointing when favourite for his reappearance in a decent Haydock event, but should come on for that handicap debut, is eased 2lb in the ratings and will relish the muddy conditions. Hamilton runner-up Sir Domino completes the shortlist.

Sarabi was touched off by just a neck off this mark at Thirsk last time out and commands plenty of respect now turned out on an unchanged mark. On the forecast slower ground, however, stablemate MISU MONEYPENNY could be the one to be on. The selection disappointed over 6f here latest but handles cut, is a dual distance winner and should appreciate the return to 5f. Lady Nayef is sliding down the ratings and has place claims along with Sir Theodore, who failed to justify favouritism at Ripon latest but makes some appeal on his earlier efforts this term.

FRAMLEY GARTH lost little in defeat when thwarted by a neck over 1m1f at Carlisle last time and is expected to give a good account while turned out off the same mark over this shorter trip. Little Choosey has been raised 1lb for finishing third at Nottingham two weeks ago and, with winning course form to her name, has viable place claims. The Gay Cavalier is up to winning at 0-70 level and could also go close if building on his last run at Brighton.
