NICE ARTY ran her best race to date with a bit of cut in the ground at Brighton last month and despite two average efforts since, she sits at the top of the official ratings and looks to have the class necessary to take this. Rural Affair has rattled the crossbar the last twice and showed improvement to get to two lengths of the winner when stepped up in trip so she looks the main danger, while Ambria's Fury has acted on a slower surface previously and could be on the premises.

BISHOP OF RUSCOMBE makes his racecourse debut having been bought for 55,000gns and, by a second-season sire who has experienced some early success with his offspring, he looks the one to go for. Despite taking a step backwards at York last time, Branston De Soto warrants respect for last year's winning yard, while Farquhar is from the first crop of Archipenko and is out of a Rock Of Gibraltar mare, so is worthy of a check in the betting.

AMULET looks to be an improving filly, after following up her C&D success earlier in the month with a nine-length demolition of her rivals in similarly testing conditions at Newbury last week, and she appears more than capable of defying a penalty to score again. The application of a hood worked the oracle for First Post at Goodwood and with give underfoot not an issue, and conditional of the moment Oisin Murphy in the plate, he is a big contender, while Topamichi was well-supported last time and is interesting dropped back to this distance.

ACE MASTER is rated a good deal lower on turf than on the all-weather and took full advantage of that to score over C&D earlier in the month. With underfoot conditions here likely to be similar and further scope for improvement on this surface, he earns the selection. Rock On Candy won well at Ffos Las when last sighted in August, and with the ground likely to suit, she is a big danger, while George Fenton obliged on bottomless ground at Hamilton last term and has a chance after a confidence-boosting win at Wolverhampton.

BEAU MISTRAL boasts winning form on soft ground and she ran out a ready winner of a Redcar event last time. Paul Green's charge is up 4lb for that effort and should be able to make her presence felt if arriving in a similar mood. Of the others, Barbs Princess is 6lb higher than when scoring at Goodwood in June and her stamina may come to the fore if James Doyle opts to make the running, while Kylladdie, another last-time-out winner, is also expected to be thereabouts.

Mamlook hasn't been seen on a racecourse since he finished a beaten favourite in a Listed handicap chase at Newton Abbot in August 2011. Representing the shrewd David Pipe operation, he cannot be overlooked and a market check is advised. Sherman McCoy is also noted having regained some confidence in a Catterick claimer latest, but of more interest is OPERA BUFF, who is holding his form admirably following a narrow Goodwood defeat over 2m earlier this month. The four-year-old scored over the distance at Salisbury before that and has ground conditions in his favour.

SUPA SEEKER arrives in decent nick for Tony Carroll and he can build on his latest third at Wolverhampton. Off a 1lb lower mark reverting to turf, the seven-year-old can be relied upon to run his race and this won't take a great deal of winning. Ptolomeos' best days are behind him now but he's a C&D winner who can never be overlooked here, while Noosa Sound won't be far away if rediscovering her Beverley form of two starts ago.
