PINK PALLET is holding her form well and, having produced a career-best speed figure when second in a $50k stakes contest at Pimlico last time, is taken to return to winning ways now eased in grade. Volare Cantare is a model of consistency and is expected to go well over this trip on her course debut. Runaway Suzanna completes the shortlist.
Zoares Land shaped like the drop back to a mile here would be ideal when he weakened significantly last time out over the extended trip. However, with luck in running, PATROL LEADER could easily take this prize. He was forced to challenge four wide over the extended mile last time and was never worrying the eventual winner but with a smooth passage into the race he could easily figure. It would be dangerous to write off the chances of Martini Please while L B's Big Red looks the each-way value in the race.
On speed figures alone, BHARAT could takes this competitive dash, especially if she was able to reproduce her run in late March where she was prominent and always in command before being eased. One Proud Cat went down by just half a length on her last outing but the speedy mare has great character and will thrive on a tight finish. Little Bang would have to improve on recent form figures to get involved while You Know I Wancha could be dangerous if she finds the rails early on.
LILY OF JOHAR might well have scored last time out if ridden more prominently as the three-year-old finishing impressively and might be worth another chance here. Felony lacked any late response over 6f here last time but may be suited coming off a pace in this, having been stepped up to a mile. Aquitania is entitled to come on for her first run this term and is one to consider. The rest would need to improve but Classic Destiny could run into a place.
FOREVER TANGO was ultra impressive over this C&D in May and must be respected here for John Jacavone after recording a career-best speed figure. She was always in command and lengthened clear by eight and a half lengths and on that performance she holds all the aces. Aspetuck Hill is one for the shortlist after bouncing back to winning form last time out and, of the others, Ransom Due goes in search of the five-timer but has it all to do, stepping into a $10,000 claimer.
King Midas returned to the winner's enclosure here last month and merits respect while evidently at one with himself. Nevertheless, the vote goes to WARNER'S WAY, who has greatly benefitted from the step up from sprint trips the last twice and remains open to further improvement around a mile. Gall Hill and King Midas are others to consider.
Yonabe was second over C&D last month and is unlikely to be far away once again but preference is for the improving FIRM GROUND, who broke his maiden over C&D earlier this month and is taken to follow up now he has picked up the winning thread. John Honeyman and Pesky Eddie are others to consider.
LIL INDY finished some way adrift of the winner when a ten-lengthl second over C&D last month but is fancied to gain compensation as he remains open to improvement over this trip. Magic Vision has been repeatedly outpaced over shorter at Charles Town and is feared most now stepping up in trip. Afleet Jane generally gives her running and has place possibilities.
HENNY BETTY has finished well held over a route on all three starts to date but is expected to fare better now sprinting for the first time. Scout Exchange has place prospects now eased in grade but the main danger to the selection appears to be the unexposed Wow Me, outpaced over an extended 5f on debut and entitled to improve for that experience now up in trip.
