It's hard to see beyond the Irish raider PRIORS GOLD. A very easy winner of a 2m maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan last month, he doesn't have too much to find to land this and his efforts to date suggest the longer trip should prove no problem. Linda Russell's newcomer Tap Night comes from a family of good American middle distance winners and could go well first time out while Think Green is flattered by his form figures but looks to be improving and could make the frame.

It's worth siding here with AMAZING KING, a useful sort on the Flat and over timber. He impressed on his chasing debut when scoring over 2m at Southwell last month and provided he handles the step-up in trip, can take this off what looks a generous mark on his chasing handicap debut. Gray Mountain won a beginners' chase over 2m here last month but that looked a modest affair and he will need to raise his game today. Peachey Moment, a C&D winner, is on a hat-trick but the handicapper may well have his measure now.

Irish trainer Gordon Elliott can pick up his second win of the day, this time courtesy of DEFINITE ALL STAR. A winner over hurdles here in April, the seven-year-old impressed when a close third over 2m 1f at Cork on his chasing debut last month and has very little to find on that effort to score here. The danger could be recent C&D winner Regent's Secret, who is well-weighted and drops in class. Spirit Calling won at Carlisle last time out but the handicapper might have his measure now.

Gordon Elliott will be hoping to complete a hat-trick, this time with Chrystal Vision, who has been highly-tried but his form doesn't look good enough and he has plenty of weight. Parson's Punch was making good progress but fell when going well at Hexham latest. If that hasn't mishap affected his confidence, he must be considered here but preference is for the locally-trained MORNING TIME, who hasn't proved the most consistent but has form in much tougher races than this. He's been given every chance by the handicapper and could take all the beating if at his best.

A competitive renewal which could go the way of Kim Bailey's hat-trick seeking SONNY MULLEN. This progressive sort did the job nicely on his two visits to the racecourse in April and, given plenty of time to recover from those exertions, he gets the vote to defy a further 11lb rise in the weights. I'msingingtheblues faces no easy task conceding weight all-round but is 2lb lower than his last winning mark and should feature, while Badger Foot makes plenty of appeal from the opposite end of the weights having comfortably beaten Harry Flashman at Kelso a couple of weeks ago.

Jewelled Dagger has reached the frame in each of his three previous starts under Graham Lee (winning one) and should go close again, but CHINO VALDES looks the one to beat. Gordon Elliott's charge produced his best effort yet when scoring comfortably over 2m4f at Cork nine days ago and there is certainly room for further improvement. Sure Josie Sure is one from one at this track and cannot be overlooked.

BLAZIN WHITE FACE can deliver the goods on her debut under NH rules. A comfortable success between the flags in April shows that she possesses plenty of ability and her weight-for-age allowance may come in handy here. Mia Matriarch is 7lb better off with Anitopia for a 2 1/4-length beating at Kelso last month and should be able to reverse placings, while Atlanta Falcon and Grey Dream are others worthy of consideration representing powerful yards.
