It would be impossible for Peter Bowen to be in better form and KING KASYAPA could be another one for the Welsh handler. The gelding came to grief at Fontwell when last seen in April but has been given a good rest since and will go close if repeating his penultimate effort behind Flying Award at Wincanton. Spirit Of Barbados was put in his place by Fishoutofwater at Bangor but had the rest well beaten off and rates a danger along with Taroum, placed on all three hurdling starts to date and still open to a little more improvement.

KING'S LEGACY went off at odds on to make a successful chasing debut for the champion trainer but came to grief early on. He was by far and away the best of these over timber and should be more than good enough with a clear round. Hi Tide faces a tough task conceding 7lb to the selection but relishes the quick ground and looks the one most likely to take advantage should the favourite not fire for any reason. Mickmacmagoole needs a degree of coaxing and cajoling but didn't do too badly when a fair third at Wetherby latest.

DUBAI CREST is a far from confident selection but he was impressive when scoring at Huntingdon off a hold-up ride and hopefully similar tactics can be adopted here as Midnight Opera is likely to set a decent pace for him to aim at. The latter wasn't disgraced in a useful handicap at Bangor last time and should give another good account. Sheena West's New Zealand import, Moonwolf, and Ixora are both likely to need their first runs for over six months, whilst this represents a significant step up in class for recent stylish selling hurdle scorer Silver Lily.

Marked Man and Keltic Lord are double the age of certain rivals but retain enthusiasm and consistency remarkably well. The former is preferred with a course and distance success to his name, including a defeat of his fellow veteran here last summer. However, he has his fair share of weight and is taken on with MORTAR. Suzy Smith's gelding is forgiven a depressing effort last time when a pulled up favourite at Newton Abbot as his previous success at Folkestone affords him solid claims here. Autumn Red and You Can Of Course merit respect from opposite ends of the handicap.

FADE TO GREY would be a popular winner as he's owned by the Worcester Racing Club and is taken to follow up a narrow course and distance success here last month. A 9lb rise does seem rather prohibitive but he displayed a resilient manner to land the spoils that day and could just be good enough. Round Tom is not one of the Paul Nicholls stars by any means and needs to start performing sooner rather than later, especially after a poor effort last time. He still makes the shortlist though, with Shrewd Investment next best off a fair mark.

My Condor is consistent enough but only has one way of running and frequently finds himself reeled in late on. This doesn't look the toughest of asks though and he seems sure to be on the premises, but in receipt of nearly a stone, preference is for GOODTIMETOBY. He looked to be found out by the demands of Towcester last time and is worth another chance on this sharper, flatter track that should play more to his strengths. Barton Sun returns from an absence but he's on an attractive mark and market support would be interesting for Alison Batchelor's gelding.
