Gordon Elliott boasts an enviable record at this venue and his narrow recent Kilbeggan winner Formal Bid will be expected to lay down another bold challenge, along with Brian Ellison's Cartmel scorer It's A Mans World.

Of the 3 last-time-out winners It's A Mans World was arguably most impressive, but that race may not be as good as it first appeared. DIDDLEY DEE looked to be crying out for this step up to 3m when gamely scoring over two and a half miles here last month and there should be plenty more to come now handed a stiffer test of stamina. The nine-year-old is still lightly-raced over fences and is expected to find the necessary improvement to defy a 6lb rise in the weights. A return to form would see O Crotaigh in the mix, while Irish raider Rathmoyle House is another worth considering.

Watch out for: O Crotaigh (2)

Rathmoyle House is feared for the bang in-form Elliott yard, but slight preference is for Diddley Dee, who is still on a learning curve in this discipline, and can improve again back over 3m.

There should be more to come from SERGEANT PINK, who was back on song when beating the reopposing Scotch Warrior over C&D last month, and he is taken to overcome a 5lb swing in the weights to confirm the form and win again. Expect Scotch Warrior to figure closely once more, while Maggio makes a welcome return to the larger obstacles following some solid displays over hurdles when last seen back in the spring.
