Roll Over Rose put in a promising debut effort at Hexham over 2m1f back in March but was pulled up on her last outing over C&D. She should come on for her last effort though and it is impossible to rule her out. However, Donald McCain's mare, SMUGLIN, looks the one to beat. She makes her first appearance in 180 days this afternoon but won with plenty in hand on her last start over this distance at Newcastle. Proficiency was a close third on her latest outing and is worthy of consideration.

A modest looking affair but it may pay to follow NIGHT KNIGHT who finished a narrowly-beaten fourth off this mark back in March. He's yet to win in this sphere but scored twice on the Flat and should be respected. November Papa Golf turns out for Tony Martin for the first time in over a year but market support would be a big positive here. Solis put in a disappointing effort at Kelso last Wednesday but had finished third on his first two appearances of the year and is no forlorn hope.

Emotive steps up in trip once again having finished second over 2m5f at Hexham at the start of the month. This will be only his fourth start in this sphere but he has shown improvement and has to be considered. Slight preference, however, is for LE PLATINO who won handsomely over 2m7f at Wetherby last month. The field may not have been the strongest on that day but the confidence booster will have done no harm. Dallas Bell won on his first start in this sphere and is one to consider off a chase mark of 99.

BEIDH TINE ANSEO won with plenty in hand over this distance at Kelso recently after coming on for his seasonal reappearance at Ayr where he had finished a close third. He turns out with a 7lb penalty but could shrug that off with further improvement expected. Baaher has been knocking on the door recently and makes a quick reappearance following a second at Aintree. He was hampered over the last that day which could have affected the outcome and he can play a hand this evening. Tetouan and Golan Guy also rate highly.

PEGASUS PRINCE has finished second on three of his his last four starts over timber and it could pay to stick with John Wade's charge today. After disappointing in handicap company, he was touched off over C&D in April and it would be no surprise to see him go one better here. Apache Country finished behind him in third that day but it will take a big effort for him to turn the tables on that form. Eighteen Carat has never come closer to shaking his maiden tag than when touched off at Bangor last time out and warrants respect.

Lucinda Russell's charge Storm Prospect ran well on his first outing for five months at Kelso recently and should come on plenty for that effort. He won over C&D back in 2008 but has gone a long spell without tasting success. A tentative verdict is for the top-weighted ALL FOR THE CAUSE who shook off the cobwebs with a fourth at Ayr over this trip in March. He ran consistently well last year and is feasibly treated at present. Flaming Heck has a third over C&D and has solid each-way claims.

7

BALLYMACDUFF was narrowly held by Grand Union on his latest outing over C&D last month but is on better terms today and can reverse the roles. The six-year-old is progressing well and he has every chance of landing a success this evening. Solway Bee has looked in good form after getting past a disappointing return to action in testing conditions. She won over this trip at Ayr in March is now just 6lb higher than her winning mark that day.
