THE COCKNEY MACKEM has proved rather expensive to follow since making a winning debut in a bumper here back in 2010 but he does have some solid form and should take all the beating if running close to his official mark of 127. Valleyofmilan posted an improved effort when runner-up at Haydock last month and he looks the most obvious danger to the selection. Solidago also has place claims.

BLAZIN WHITE FACE is rated 7lb lower over hurdles than fences and with trip and ground no problem, she can go well if at the top of her game after her break. Streamtown has not been at her best of late but she would have each-way prospects if returning to form. Golden Sparkle is in good heart and looks sure to be on the premises, whilst Goldtrek should not be ignored despite running from 3lb out the handicap.

UTOPIE DES BORDES had to settle for second best behind Ubak in Grade 2 company over 2m4f at Aintree and she was far from disgraced in the Grade 1 Albert Bartlett over 3m at Cheltenham prior to that. In receipt of her mares' allowance today, she could get the better of Beeves, who ran out an impressive winner at Ayr last month. Recent Uttoxeter winner Neltara also commands respect and Imperial Vic is by no means ruled out.

Kie finished runner-up at Cheltenham last week and the sharp 2m here will certainly play to his strengths. He looks sure to go off in front and could prove tough to catch. Private Equity also likes to go from the front, however, and if that pair take each other on this could be set up for UPSILON BLEU. A winner over 2m4f at Carlisle last month, he is best off at the weights today and can pick up the pieces late on, with this likely to be run at a very strong pace.

Jasperito won this last year and it would be no surprise to see him return to form today. The hat-trick seeking Grey Area must also be respected, even though he has gone up a total of 16lb for his wins at Newcastle and Kelso. Dickie Henderhoop has place claims and Grey Command is worth a second look but MILL BAY gets a tentative vote. He will find this test far more suitable than the 2m2f at Downpatrick last month and he's open to some improvement.

Real Milan returned to form with a decent second at Wetherby last time and he is respected, along with Pigeon Island, who has been raised 9lb for his Ascot success earlier this month. Rolecarr is on a hat-trick following two wins over 3m at Kelso and he's considered closely, as is Good Order. Tyrone House could surprise but the verdict ultimately goes to REQUIN. He is well treated on best form and his Fontwell second to Fruity O'Rooney earlier this month hinted that his turn was near.

7

18:10 Perth (Class 3) (4YO plus)

Try Crabbie's Curiously Crisp Scottish Raspberry Handicap Hurdle

Deepsand was brought down at the first when favourite at Wetherby and is sure to prove popular on his handicap debut this evening. Smadynium and Laterly also have claims but Philip Kirby has strong claims with Platinum and JAWAAB. The former is an obvious contender on the form of his Newcastle second on Sunday but the latter gets the nod. He should strip fitter for his Wetherby reappearance run earlier this month and could be on a fair mark.
