Thuringe has shown enough in France to suggest she can play a part in the finish of this event, while Leopold appears to have solid place claims at least, but the most likely winner must surely be OSTFANNI who has had a warm-up on the Flat and need only repeat the form she produced when second at Ludlow in January to have a major chance today.

Noble House has place prospects on his second over this trip at Sedgefield in May, while Sylvie D'Orthe and Private Jessica have similar claims, but clear preference is for BALL GAMES. Second in a similar event when last seen over timber at Cartmel, he is now tackling 3f further, but he was making significant late headway that day and seems worth taking a chance on.

With Ryminster returning from a lengthy absence this looks like a match between Music To My Ears, who carries a 7lb penalty for winning an incident-packed 3m chase at Stratford, and POSSEXTOWN who had the rest well beaten when failing to concede 26lb to the winner of a 2m4f handicap at this track in late June. It could easily be the wrong choice, but the latter might improve for this longer trip.

Astronaut went lame on the run-in when seemingly sure to fill the runner-up spot at Uttoxeter last time, so is better than the bare form suggests, but it could be worth taking a chance on BELLA LIANA who is stepping up in trip after a decent second in her native Ireland almost three weeks ago. Top Pack and The Yellow Earl appeal as the most likely to claim minor honours.

Connections clearly believe that 113-rated hurdler KNIAZ is feasibly treated for his first chase handicap, otherwise there wouldn't be a lot of sense in travelling all the way from Ireland. In-form Risky Way won over C&D in June and almost defied a 7lb hike in the weights when third last time, while Pavey Ark is dropping back in trip after producing an improved effort most recently.

6

16:50 Perth (Class D) (4YO plus)

SIS Handicap Hurdle

South Bronx was no match for Grade 2 opponents at Kelso and Aintree earlier in the year, but should make his presence felt on his reappearance, while Dream Castle will be winning more races, but RAJAM looks the one to beat. Geoff Harker's inmate has hardly turned a hair in landing both starts this season and could turn out to be better than the average summer jumps winner.
