VANCOUVERITE clearly possesses an engine as he was good enough to win a Group 2 in France on the Flat and overcame some poor jumping to make a winning start over hurdles at Huntingdon. That experience won't have been lost on him and he is backed to defy a penalty here. Mr Steadfast has gone close at this venue the last twice and looks the pick of Gordon Elliott's runners, although Iffjack was second yesterday, and perhaps Seven Devils deserves closer market inspection.

TRADEWINDS changed hands for 20,000 pounds after landing a Bellewstown handicap hurdle in August and is backed to make a winning start for Lucinda Russell. Mustadrik can give the selection most to think about after a couple of sound efforts in defeat and the top-rated Major Ivan has to enter calculations on his return from a break. The latter is entitled to strip fitter for this outing, which is also the case for Ballywilliam, who was last seen winning a Chepstow bumper in February.

CYRUS DARIUS signed off a successful novice hurling campaign with victory in a Grade 2 event at Aintree in April and looks nailed on if reproducing that form over fences. The selection does concede match fitness to Knight's Parade, who has showed a fair level of ability over timber this term, and looks capable of getting on the premises. He receives weight from his stablemate Shadow Catcher, although that contender cannot be overlooked with Richard Johnson in the plate.

Miss Dinamic must enter calculations if turning out again after winning here yesterday, while her stablemate Be Seeing You can run a big race if responding positively to the application of cheekpieces and a tongue-tie. Sharp Rise is an in-form player with solid claims but the hat-trick seeking MARAWEH gets the nod. He is a much improved animal this year and clearly likes it around here having impressively notched up a 3m course double recently. A further 5lb rise will obviously might life a lot tougher but it might not be enough to stop him.

IORA GLAS had a subsequent winner 34 lengths behind when winning a shade cosily at Towcester and a 9lb rise looks fair. He is open to plenty of further improvement with only seven NH starts under his belt and will benefit from stepping back up in distance, so a bold bid is forecast. Politeness rates the biggest threat with a Perth record that reads 1312 while Jack Steel was a fine third in class 3 company at Ayr last time and Sword of The Lord has been in decent form on the Flat.

Bouggietopieces will have an obvious chance if taking his place in the line-up (second here yesterday) but ENDEAVOR shades the verdict off bottom-weight. He ran out a decisive winner on his return to chasing duty at Cartmel and a 5lb rise might not be enough to anchor him if arriving in the same mood. Gleann Na Ndochais is a dual C&D winner and didn't appear to see out the extended 2m7f trip when fifth here last time. He can take closer order with conditions in his favour while Quito Du Tresor, a decent third at Southwell latest, also has a squeak.

Trespassers Will made a debut full of promise when third at Wincanton and he should be involved at the business end again, but FAGAN rates the one to beat. He was just one and three-quarter lengths behind the now 120-rated hurdler Mr Burgees on his NH debut in a bumper here in July last year, and has since notched up a hat-trick between the flags. Representing extremely powerful connections, he looks to have an outstanding chance. Nigel Twiston-Davies won this race last year and his Wicked Willy, third at Haydock in April, cannot be ruled out either.
