It will be interesting to see what the market makes of Chapter One on his racecourse debut with Pat Smullen booked, while Compass Hill sets the standard and commands plenty of respect. Preference, though, is for FALCAO, who caught the eye when fourth at Down Royal, shaping as though a drop to this trip would suit in the process. Future Icon took a step in the right direction last time and is another to consider.

SHANGHAI BEAUTY made a deserved breakthrough at Bellewstown last month, winning a shade cosily, and she rates a confident selection in her follow up bid now going handicapping off an attractive mark. Bainne has been in good heart of late and should push the selection all the way. Sassaway has never won off a mark this high but ought to be on the premises, along with the likes of Oor Jock and Apache Gold.

The return to this distance can see CALM BAY gain an eighth career success. All of his victories have come over the minimum trip, and he again appeared stretched when fading into second over six furlongs last time. Enter The Red wasn't beaten far in his bid to follow up a narrow Sligo success last time and won't be far away. Little Sweetheart has been knocking on the door and is another to consider, while Barbeque holds rock-solid place claims.

VERBOSITY sets a decent standard in this race and the form of her third at Galway last time was boosted when the second won at Gowran on Sunday. She has shown good consistency so far during her career and it's hard to see her out of the places today. Auld Brig would be a big player on his Killarney form but he disappointed badly last time, while Laws Of Spin took a big step forward at Listowel and a repeat of that run would give him a chance. Of the newcomers Great Trango and Footbridge make the most appeal.

SET TO FIRE only went down narrowly at Gowran last time and a 3lb rise for that effort is fair enough. She looked like she would enjoy a step up in trip that day and this looks an ideal opportunity for the filly to break her maiden tag under a promising apprentice. Dilly Daydream has shown promise in maidens and her opening mark looks workable, while Hollywood Road would have a chance on his Leopardstown run. It would be no surprise to see See You In Malta and Zig Zag go well now trying handicap company.

A small field but one in which you couldn't confidently rule out any of the participants. TAMADHOR has been set some stiff tasks this season, including when not being beaten too far when sixth in the Irish 1,000 Guineas. Her most recent run in a Group 3 was solid in the context of this race and she looks the leading contender. Akira often runs well despite finding winning hard (just one career win from 16 starts) but a repeat of her fourth here in Listed company two stars back would give her a chance. Colour Blue is likely to be the outsider of the race but she is a solid performer.

A race where most of the leading contenders have had plenty of chances - these include Avizare, Chinese Light and Deontas. All of these should be thereabouts with a marginal preference going to Avizare because outside of a poor run at Curragh in July, she has been progressive. The most interesting runner today is TRUTH, a Galileo half-sister to Irish Oaks winner Chicquita who cost 1,000,000 euros as a yearling. Despite most representatives from the yard needing the run she won't need to be a superstar to win this on debut.
