TEPALO appeared to benefit from the step up to this trip when scoring readily at Sligo last month (runner-up and fifth have won since) and the unexposed five-year-old will be fancied to follow up here. Royal Scoundrel only found the useful Simarian (won again since) too good in handicap company at Ffos Las most recently and he warrants plenty of respect in this contest. Ryton Runner receives plenty of weight from his chief rivals and he cannot be ruled out.

Useful Flat performer Rain Mac reportedly finished distressed when disappointing on his hurdling debut at Doncaster in early March and he can be given another chance. Beef To The Heels looks capable of going close providing his confidence hasn't been dented from his third-last flight fall at Down Royal last time. However, the verdict goes to IFANDBUTWHYNOT. Promising bumper efforts last term include a fourth in Listed company and David O'Meara is sure to have him well schooled prior to this first run over timber.

The 2011 Coral Cup winner Carlito Brigante is undoubtedly the class act in this event but he has questions to answer following a lacklustre performance at Kilbeggan last time. The Tracey Shuffle didn't appear to get home in a 3m hurdle at Haydock latest and can be given another chance dropping back in trip on his chasing debut. However, WYSE HILL TEABAGS is fancied to make a winning debut over fences. He had a largely consistent profile over timber before scoping dirty post-race at Aintree last time and he certainly has the size and scope to do well in this sphere.

It could pay to side with BRIDLINGTONBYGONES in what looks a wide-open handicap. Karen McLintock's charge has reached the frame in each of his three starts so far this year and another big run looks assured here. Piment D'Estruval also makes some appeal on his handicap return, having run well in three novice events since returning in July. Mullaghwillin Boy, Talk Of Saafend and Agricultural make up the shortlist.

Stags Leap is only 2lb higher than when scoring at Kelso in May and should give a good account, especially if getting his favoured fast ground, but Irish raider MIGHTY WHITEY edges the vote. He arguably produced his best performance over hurdles so far when third at Down Royal last time (would have finished closer but for a last-flight mistake) and a repeat performance is sure to see him in the shake-up here. Toshi and the Lucinda Russell pair, Long Distance and Urban Kode, are others to consider.

Difficult to put a line through any of the seven runners and ROSSINI'S DANCER receives just a tentative vote. He has been given plenty of time to recover from a lacklustre run over 3m here in May and is sure to mount a bold bid if recapturing the form of his 12-length success over 2m here prior to that. Via Archimede remains unexposed over fences and he is respected, while More Equity (declared run run here yesterday) has dropped back down to her last winning mark.

Marginal preference is for OUR JOEY in what looks a well above average bumper. He confirmed the promise shown on his debut when readily winning a soft ground contest over this C&D in June and looks sure to be in the shake-up today, providing he handles the forecast quicker surface. There is plenty of competition, however, with other bumper scorers Mister Pagan, Gold Bullet and Josh Deets all worth a mention. Any strong market support for either Captain Pierce or Maison De Ville on their respective debuts would well be worth noting.
