An uphill run on soft ground for these young horses will put stamina at a premium, so it might be worth siding with the proven staying prowess of JUST HUBERT. Beaten just a neck over this trip at Kempton, he certainly wasn't stopping that day and could be a tough nut to crack. Mark Johnston is no stranger to stout staying juveniles and he has the two main dangers in Gravistas and Henry's Conquest, with Silvestre De Sousa on the former.

Flint Said No, Musical Sky and Socru all embark on handicap careers on the back of runner-up finishes in novice events. They all have to be considered, but DIAMONIQUE is preferred. Already a nursery winner when successful at Musselburgh in August, she followed that up in a conditions stakes at the same Scottish venue and though Listed company proved beyond her last time, this looks right up her street.

JAMIL has won two of his three starts so far and Roger Varian's charge has his first start in handicaps off what looks an exploitable rating of 87, especially considering his emphatic Hamilton success last time. Sod's Law was a good winner at Ffos Las last time and could be a factor despite an 8lb rise, while Completion and Dream Today come into this on the back of runner-up finishes last time.

SO NEAR SO FARHH has been a revelation since being sent over staying trips, winning convincingly over a furlong shorter here last time. Mick Channon's filly could land the hat-trick here, confirming the form of that latest success over Rubenesque (second), Angel Gabrial (third), Forbidding (fifth) and Galileo's Spear (sixth). Dalshand has been out of sorts recently but his handicap mark has dropped as a result and he's only 2lb higher than when victorious at Lingfield in July.

Newmarket Warrior won by the narrowest of margins at Ayr last time but the handicapper hasn't overreacted in raising her 2lb, while Edgar Allan Poe has a 6lb hike to contend with following his victory at Hamilton. It could be worth taking a chance on BEZOS, though, as he ran no sort of race at Beverley last time but the form of his second at Ffos Las looks solid considering the fourth has gone on to win subsequently.

A good run from Newmarket Warrior in the preceding race will only strengthen the claims of MUSTAQBAL here. The recent rain will be no issue for Michael Dods' mud lover, who followed up a win at Carlisle with a narrow defeat to Newmarket Warrior at Ayr last time. Zeshov has been in fine form of late and has to enter the reckoning, while Placebo Effect hasn't been the most consistent of performers but did catch the eye when second at Beverley latest.

ORMESHER would have claims on his Flat form, but the fact he has won two hurdles with consummate ease most recently suggests he is a horse on the up. Master Grey wasn't beaten far into fifth at Haydock last time and could be a factor, while Sempre Presto only faded close home over further at Ayr and might be happier over this trip.

FRONSAC stepped up on his Kempton debut to finish third at Chelmsford last time and though he's yet to show that he acts on turf, on pedigree it should bring about further improvement. Nomoathaj is another making his turf debut after showing promise on the all-weather, while newcomers Matterhorn and Harbour Bay are newcomers to note.
