Monbeg Worldwide is a high-class performer, as a point-to-point and three bumper victories indicate, but he was a little disappointing in two hurdle starts last season and could be needing a fence already. His vulnerability may leave the door open for SWEET FLIGHT, who built on his Wexford bumper success when chasing home smart stablemate Karl Der Grosse on his hurdles debut at Tramore (third and sixth have won since) and normal improvement will make him tough to beat. Visioman also warrants respect following his comeback second at Kilbeggan.

Carrigmoorna Wood readily won a 2m2f course bumper on her latest outing in May and switching to hurdles should pose no problems to this point-to-point scorer, but MARY B shades the verdict with race-fitness on her side. Charles Byrnes' filly was a high-class bumper performer last season, finishing fourth in Grade 3 company at the Punchestown Festival, and she will have learnt plenty from her fourth-placed effort in what looked a red-hot novice hurdle at Listowel. The unexposed Golden Glen, third on her sole start in a Limerick bumper, is another interesting player.

This looks a decent opportunity for OH'HEREWEGO to add to his recent victories at Ballinrobe and Listowel. Conor Orr's valuable claim cancels out the majority of the nine-year-old's recent 8lb rise and he edges the vote over Select Opportunity, who switches back to hurdles off a 7lb lower mark than when scoring gamely over fences at Sligo recently. Alizee Javilex, placed on her last couple of starts for Dan Skelton, merits consideration on her first outing for Paul Flynn, while Cantkidakidder will appreciate the return to timber.

Gordon Elliott has saddled the last couple of winners of this contest and he looks to have a solid chance again with Burren Life, a 131-rated hurdler going chasing for the first time, but MOYROSS gets the nod. Although very closely matched with the former on hurdle ratings, Noel Meade's charge has less miles on the clock and he might well improve for the switch to fences. Of those with fencing experience under their belt already, Rueben James and Young Turk have chances.

ELLIE MAC improved from her chase debut when second to Camelia De Cotte at Listowel last month as she tackled 2m4f for the first time under Rules. Henry De Bromhead's mare could have further improvement to come at the trip and she can progress further. Fintara was no match for Thecraicisninety at Sligo on her most recent start, but can prove competitive along with the third from that contest, Hugo 'n Taz, who is unexposed over fences.

NATIVE LASS looks the safe bet in this handicap on the basis that she boasts a good racing weight and arrives on the back of a solid third-placed effort in a beginners' chase behind the reopposing Ard Na Carraig. She gets a 2lb pull at the weights with that rival which could be enough to see her reverse the form. Fairymount Boy can be forgiven one bad run at Galway and is another to take seriously.

FIRST APPROACH, a winner between the flags, should have enough class to win a bumper of this nature. He struggled in a warmer race at the Punchestown Festival when last sighted but had shaped with plenty of promise in starts at Galway and Down Royal before that. Doctor Duffy slipped up on heavy Listowel ground when mounting his challenge latest and is worth a second look, while Miss Chevious Girl can also get competitive.
