Raggaas boasts an official rating of 77 and is likely to be thereabouts if running to that level, but YIMMNA still might prove too strong. Very green on debut at Yarmouth, the selection then finished second to a potentially smart rival at Newmarket. There is unlikely to be anything of a similar calibre lining up here and she can take full advantage. Vastern heads the remainder.

SAXON GRACE is still a maiden after 14 starts, but she posted one of her better efforts when a close third at Hamilton recently. The winner was completing a hat-trick on that occasion, so if able to take another step forward a 2lb rise may well underestimate her. Park Lane Penny tasted victory in a classified event at Thirsk most recently and is entitled to the utmost respect on her handicap bow, while that might also be a catalyst for improvement from Miss Potomac.

WELBURY was never too far away from the pace when scoring at Pontefract and a similar scenario could unfold here for the low-mileage three-year-old. A 5lb rise will ask sterner questions of him, though, not least because Paladin is already proven at this level and arrives following a really creditable second at Ascot. Capital Guarantee is more than capable of backing up his recent Thirsk triumph, and the admirably consistent Barley shouldn't be far away either.

With a small field the draw becomes less relevant, but DEMOCRACY DILEMMA may still make the most of stall one to win this. Robert Cowell's six-year-old was fourth in a better race at Goodwood last month and may try the same positive tactics off 1lb lower here. Spring Is Sprung was second at York off this mark two starts ago, while Sports Coach may have to settle for yet another place.

ELLIE'S DE VEGA makes plenty of appeal at these weights and if he steps forward on his first start for Philip Kirby, the recent Newcastle second has every chance to lose his maiden status. Brave Bob could go well once again if he is allowed to front run as he did when second at Newcastle in January and seems a huge danger, while the consistent Doralee may also mount a serious challenge.

DUBAI VENTURE failed to complete a double when second over 1m4f at Thirsk on his latest outing, but that was still a respectable effort and he goes off an unchanged mark. This step up in distance might eke out improvement and the five-year-old looks the way to go. Billy Bathgate justified strong market support to score over 2m here last month and commands respect, while Nanny Park is another to note.

FRENCH AFFAIR overcame a troubled passage to make a winning start for the Jennie Candlish yard at Goodwood recently and a 4lb rise might underestimate the manner of that success. If the son of Mehmas remains in similar form, he could prove a tough nut to crack. Houndhill had Brave Traveller just over a length behind in second when successful over 5f at Newcastle and is expected to confirm that form to go close.
