Lilac Lace went close when favourite at Catterick last time but David Allan prefers Tim Easterby's other runner Medici Dancer, who missed out by just a head at Pontefract. Rangooned has shown some solid form over the minimum trip and has claims but preference is for MAID A MILLION. David Elsworth's filly followed up a good second at Goodwood with a similar placing at Yarmouth and could go one better here.

Mill End Dancer was something of a surprise winner at Musselburgh last time but a 5lb rise shouldn't inconvenience her enormously, though she may struggle to beat BEACON TARN. Eric Alston's charge had two subsequent winners behind her when fifth at Nottingham last time and an opening mark of 61 looks very fair. Dream Vale fared better for having her sights lowered at Catterick last time, while Perfect Words went close latest but is up 2lb for that.

DISCLAIMER looks the one to be on here as Sir Henry Cecil's charge ran well over 7f here and certainly stays a mile. He is the most exposed horse in the line-up but hasn't done a great deal wrong and looks sure to be off the mark before long given the fact he's achieved an official rating of 79. Backstage Tour has filled third place on both starts to date and may just be coming into his own, while Gods Gift is another of interest.

Frederickthegreat comes out best at the weights but his best efforts have come on the all-weather, while Auto Mac is top rated in the field but is without a win since July last year. Barathea Dancer ran respectably at Wolverhampton last time but a chance is taken on PETROCELLI finding form dropped back in trip. Wilf Storey's gelding struggled over 2m at Catterick last time but his previous form in middle-distance handicaps stands up well in this contest.

RED TYKE's Flat victory at Hamilton was sandwiched between two hurdles successes, and while John Quinn's charge remains in such good heart he looks hard to oppose here. Blue Dune was very disappointing when odds-on at Catterick last time and has a bit to prove for now, while Panettone also failed as a favourite last time and Roger Varian reaches for the hood here. Dorry K could be forgiven her latest effort at York with the drop in trip that day unlikely to have suited.

Quan produced his best effort to date at Pontefract last time and may be happier over this slightly shorter trip. Money for Miss Bunter on her racecourse debut would be interesting, but SNOOKY gets the vote. Richard Fahey's charge went down by just half a length at Newcastle last time and looks sure to give another good account here.

Piste ran well for second at Nottingham last time but is up 1lb and in trip here, while Scarlet Rocks has been raised 2lb for her runner-up finish over C&D in August. The handicapper hasn't exactly gone to town on Northern Bolt, raising him 3lb for a victory at Hamilton, and he looks the likeliest threat to FAMA MAC, who struggled on fibresand when last seen but has to be accorded respect back on turf.

GRACIE'S GIFT chased home Maltease Ah in a similar handicap at Southwell last time and though Richard Guest's gelding is hardly likely to be improving at the age of 10, he could have enough to land this prize. Bridge Valley is a consistent enough sort and could get involved where it matters, while Orwellian is just 3lb higher than his C&D-winning mark, but that is after failing to trouble the judge in two subsequent outings elsewhere.
