GREATWOOD sets a clear standard of those with form in the book. He went into notebookes aplenty when staying on well for second over 7f at Leicester on debut, form which has been boosted by the winner subsequently landing a Newbury conditions race in style, and Luca Cumani's colt should relish this extra furlong. Argaki and Brownsea Brink were also doing their best work at the finish on their respective 7f debuts and, both representing powerful yards, they could have much more to offer now upped in trip. The Brian Meehan-trained La Chiffonier cost 150,000gns as a yearling and looks the pick of the newcomers.

Harry Bosch boasts the best form on offer but doesn't set the bar very high with his third in a 7f maiden here and it could pay to side with one of the host of potentially-smart newcomers. Godolphin-owned duo Celebrated Talent and Ikhtisas certainly fall into that category, especially Saeed Bin Suroor's charge who holds an entry in the Derby, while Roger Charlton's Forward March is closely related to a number of useful sorts. Richard Hannon launches a three-pronged assault and although Bugsy and Woodstock make plenty of appeal on paper, SEASIDE ROCK is the choice of Richard Hughes and looks the best option. The son of Oratorio cost 55,000gns and is a half-brother to several winners, including Group 3 scorer Mister Sacha.

Richard Hannon has won this race three times in the last six years and he has strong claims again courtesy of BALTIC KNIGHT. Following his ready maiden success over 7f at Kempton, he found smart stablemate Montiridge too good at Sandown latest but pulled well clear of the remainder and clearly has a bright future. He can score today, possibly at the main expense of Silver Ridge, who made it two wins from four starts when landing a 6f handicap with a bit in hand off 85 latest. King Dragon has contested hot races on both starts since his 6f maiden win on soft ground and is no forlorn hope.

CUFFLINK was doing her best work at the finish when landing a Wolverhampton maiden over an extended 1m in good style last time out and the extra yardage can unlock further improvement. She was knocking on the door on turf prior to that all-weather success and looks the one to beat today. No Compromise is used to competing at a higher level but he has shown his best form on a fast surface and a bigger threat may be posed by Matavia Bay, who landed a 1m2f handicap on good to soft in June but has struggled off his revised mark on both starts since.

MUTAZAMEN is asked to concede weight all round but looks a most progressive Hannon juvenile and the completion of his hat-trick looks on the cards here. He seems equally at home over six or seven furlongs and should have too much class for this opposition. New Pearl appears exposed and Breton Rock, one from one after a smooth winning debut here, looks the prime threat. He did take time to get the hang of things that day but finished to some effect and could be one to follow. Alcando and Kodatish will need to improve on efforts to date.

PICTURE DEALER has suggested there's more to come with a useful turn of foot at his best and still looks on a decent mark. A seventh furlong looked a bridge too far last time but expect a prominent showing if he gets the breaks in running. Cheworee is another 3-y-o likely to get involved and she also inhabits a fair mark for the Elsworth team, while the in-form Links Drive Lady looks best of the older brigade as she bids to complete her four-timer. However, the handicapper may just have her measure now. Choral and Out Do also merit respect.

It is interesting to see connections persevere with FOR WHAT deep into his 4-y-o career and the Mingun colt could be the one. He's done most of his racing on artificial surfaces but showed up well last time on turf at Lingfield and arrives on the back of a decent break. Market support would enhance confidence. Authoritarian continues to run her race with commendable consistency and the Authorized filly cannot be discounted, while Cyril The Squirrel and South Cape also make appeal. However, the nature of the contest speaks for itself with just 4lb separating the entire field.

SHESHA BEAR reserves his best for Epsom but has gone well here in the past, including when posting a solid runner-up effort in June behind Achalas. It is tempting to row in with him, especially with Jimmy Fortune such a good booking, but he's yet to prove himself over this trip and CELLIST is preferred off the bottom rung. The gelding is not a Haggas leading light but he does get the trip well and should have more to offer after only six runs. The totally unexposed Maria Letizia is well worth a second look in the market.
