Zac Purton is a positive jockey booking and he will be very hard to beat from a good gate in this spot. #6 Young Dreamer has been racing well this season. He is probably better suited at the Happy Valley 1200m but he gets in well thanks to Victor Wong's 10-pound claim. #7 Yourthewonforme has drawn awkwardly but he should be right in contention under Joao Moreira. #10 Chaparral Star was a big winner for this column at 87/1 last time out. He would appreciate more ground yet, but he'll be running on late.

Glorious Forever looked like a potential Group horse in the making when winning by four lengths last time out. The step up to 2000m should only suit him – it is the course and distance where his full-brother Time Warp was a two-time G1 winner this term – and he should be hard to run down on the lead. That said, both #2 Insayshable and #1 Stimulation will prove tough competition second-up. Insayshable returned with a distant second at Happy Valley behind Doctor Geoff, but he should improve dramatically and he's a contender. Stimulation, the first son of Deep Impact in training in Hong Kong, didn't look anywhere near fit first-up when second to the lightly-weighted Pikachu. He will make it to Group level next season, but he can run a bold race here. #5 Super Chic is next best.

Bellagio debuted well last month, struggling to get a clear run before dead-heating for third. He should only take improvement for that effort and, even from the awkward gate, he will be hard to beat. #2 Khaki steps out for Tony Millard for the first time. He has trialled well, Millard has a good record with stable transfers and Chad Schofield is the yard's go-to jockey, so even though he has shown very little in nine Hong Kong starts, he can be expected to improve sharply very quickly. #7 Cordyceps ran third at a big price first time out. Joao Moreira jumps aboard from a good gate and he can't be overlooked. #8 Lightning Treasure is improving steadily and should run another good race.
