Although he's carrying a double penalty, ZEALOT is hard to get away from having looked a reformed character since cheekpieces were applied at Southwell 13 days ago. He's been impressive in victory on both starts since and is fancied to complete the hat-trick here. Bearing Bob got off the mark at the first time of asking for new handler Tony Carroll at Kempton last month and merits respect, along with recent runner-up Daafy, who should appreciate a return to this trip.

SOUTHWOLD looked a gelding worth following when scoring in decisive style on debut at Newcastle and with improvement likely, he may prove hard to beat. The son of Gleneagles had clearly been showing plenty at home having attracted plenty of support in the betting that day and appears the likeliest winner. The biggest threat may come from his stablemate Glam Puss, who shaped nicely when runner-up behind the unbeaten Hickory on debut and is now upped in trip. Dubai Immo has failed to justify favouritism on a number of occasions now and may have to settle for minor honours again.

This looks a good opportunity for EVENING STORY to get off the mark, having gone close on his last two attempts and he appears to have plenty going for him with this extra furlong likely to suit. Crocodile Roll improved for the first-time hood when staying on strongly to finish second at Lingfield last month and looks a lively danger now upped in trip. Hiatus ran a fine race to finish runner-up on his return from a three-month break last week and is entitled to have come on for that outing.

GIFTED GOLD could give weight and a beating to these rivals. She made a good impression when winning on debut at Newcastle and takes a significant drop in class after struggling in Group 3 company at Newmarket last time. Weydaad (also engaged to run at Newcastle on Wednesday) still looked green at Chelmsford, but her two efforts to date have been encouraging enough and she should make her presence felt. Pysanka also warrants respect after running a screamer at huge odds on debut.

It's difficult to look past TWILIGHT MADNESS, who has won his last three outings, including two over this C&D. He carries a 5lb penalty for the latest of those victories, which came nine days ago, but is still very much the one to beat. Hiya Maite looks the obvious danger after scoring readily here last time, while Stone Of Destiny, Army Of India and Ramon Di Loria are others to note.

The Thin Blue Line was a game winner on his most recent outing over this trip at Wolverhampton, but a 5lb penalty could see him struggle, so PORFIN gets the vote. The son of Belardo secured a comfortable victory earlier this month at Lingfield and, in contrast to the former, he looks capable of defying a 5lb penalty. Politics is another to consider despite the step up in class.

A fairly open contest, in which a chance can be taken with OK PAL, who has proven he is capable of better than his most recent effort suggests. He kept on well for second on his penultimate outing at Chelmsford, so could bounce back from his latest showing, while Jumira Bridge is another to consider despite failing to justify market support at Kempton in October. East Street Revue also merits consideration for a reputable stable.

Runner-up on her last two starts, this could go the way of BLUEBIRD. She remains a maiden after six career outings but has shown enough of late to suggest that she can shed that tag this evening. Elegant Ellen secured a decent third-placed finish on her most recent run at Chelmsford and is feared most. Mehmo, third over C&D last time, completes the shortlist.
