BATTLE OF SARATOGA was clearly out of his depth in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York but before that had finished a close second over 7f here in a Listed contest. Back in maiden company - and with this longer trip likely to suit - he should break his duck at the fourth time of asking. Mahaazen has turned in four good efforts to date - all over 7f - and looks the one for the forecast while Kashmir Peak, Canary Wharf and Thomasgainsborough could run big races.

Picking the winner here won't be easy but it might pay to side with the hat-trick-chasing JILLS BALLET. She's up 3lb following her half-length success over this trip at the Curragh but might still be on an upward curve and looks worth sticking with. The vastly-experienced Maundy Money looks to be running back into form and won off a 13lb higher mark last year. He could pose a real threat if back to his best while cases could also be made for Boom To Bust, Bold Thady Quill and Independent Girl.

Preference here is for the progressive ANAM ALLLTA. After a nice win at Galway, she was caught close home in a Listed race over C&D and although she's up in class again, there should be more to come after just five starts. The danger looks to be Look At Me, out of sorts lately but who has gone close twice in this grade and would pose a real threat if back to her best. The same could be said of Across The Rhine, a Group 3 winner in July, while Bay Knight and Dandy Boy are not out of it.

Donnas Palm won this last year but needs to improve on recent efforts. Captain Cee Bee's best recent form has come over fences but he was a Grade 1 novice hurdle winner at Punchestown last year and shouldn't be overlooked. The Real Article and The Bull Hayes are others to consider but preference is for LUSKA LAD, twice a winner in this grade last year. He seemed to lose his way at the end of last season but resumed after a summer break with a decent second at Killarney - a run that should have put him right for this.

Plenty in with chances here but slight preference is for TAVERN TIMES, winner of two of his five starts over timber and placed in two others. He's up in class after a nice win over 2m4f at Galway latest but should be suited by this return to the minimum trip and is open to further improvement. Steps To Freedom, a useful sort on the Flat, scored in style on his hurdling debut at Fairyhouse and looks the danger but chances could also be given to Ballinrobe winner Jim Will Fix It and the progressive Bullock Harbour.

DOUBLE SEVEN carries another 8lb following his 2m6f Galway success - which came hot on the heels of a 2m victory here - but is clearly on an upward curve and is worth supporting again. Resolute Bay can be given a chance while Mubrook has claims on his good second over 2m6f at Killarney back in May. Listowel 3m winner Trabajo cannot be ruled out despite finishing eighth at Gowran on Friday.

It is hard to oppose the lightly raced FIRST LIEUTENANT on his chasing debut after the 149-rated hurdler landed the 2m5f Grade 1 novices' hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this year. The son of Presenting is expected to relish this transition to fences, but Slieveardagh shouldn't be overlooked having already scored in novice chase company at Listowel last month. Experience may count double and it is also worth considering both Far Away Close and Granaruid.

SAINT GERVAIS is in rude health at present and overcame a steady gallop to score over this trip at Listowel last month, showing speed to quicken away at the finish in the manner of an improving horse that could be destined for better things. Shu Lewis is feared most and arrives here unbeaten after following up his debut success at Thurles with a wide-margin victory at Roscommon last month. Last time out Bellewstown scorer Maller Tree looks the pick of the remainder.
