This should go the way of AUTUMN SPIRIT, who landed a 2m Leicester handicap chase on his debut in March. He was well held last time over this C&D off a 7lb higher mark but we may not have seen the best of him yet and he'll be much more at home in this company. Muntami has been running well over timber recently and must be give a chance back over the bigger obstacles, while the penny may have dropped for Goodtimetoby and he could take a hand in the finish.

Plenty in with chances here but it could pay to stick with recent Southwell winner LUCKY MIX. He scored by six lengths over 3m1f last month and this looks no tougher. He has the speed to handle this drop in trip and should still be open to some improvement. Bellaboosh was a well-held second behind the selection that day but is also open to improvement and could occupy the runner-up berth again. Midnight Macarena, Varkala and The Strawberry One look in good form and cannot be ruled out.

MASTER FONG has been well beaten in his last two starts but they came in far better company than this. He landed a 2m Haydock seller three starts ago and looks up to landing the spoils here as he returns to this grade. Holoko Heights is a prolific scorer in these races but has something to find with the selection after trailing in 17 lengths behind him last time out, while Alhaque's form is far from impressive but he takes a big drop in class tonight.

Gerrard won this last year and has scored off a 7lb higher mark since but the handicapper may have his measure now. Ethiopia is on a hat-trick after wins at Chepstow and Plumpton but may also struggle at the weights now and is passed over in favour of RED JESTER, who hasn't won since scoring over 2m at Warwick back in November 2009 but has been knocking on the door of late. He's never run beyond 2m5f before but if his stamina holds out, he's weighted to win this.

Turbo Shandy, after an unhappy return to chasing, has hit form back over hurdles, scoring C&D last month. The second, Meridiem, reopposes on 5lb better terms but looked well held and Turbo Shandy should confirm the placings. The one to beat, however, may be VALID POINT, a cosy C&D winner last time out. He's still learning his trade over timber and his jumping isn't always foot perfect but he improved for the faster ground and a tongue-tie last time and, despite another 6lb, can follow up now dropped in class.

Armoury House is the odd-one-out here as he hasn't won this race in the past but he landed a similar contest over 3m at Taunton last month and can't be ruled out. Fruitfukl Citizen landed this two years ago and continues to run well at this level but slight preference is for last year's winner, COOLEFIND, who completed a hat-trick at this level with that success. He was well held last time out but that was in better company and he comes here after two wins and two places between the flags this winter.

It may be worth giving another chance to FRIZZO, who met trouble in running on his debut over this trip at Ayr. He was badly hampered midway through the race and did well to get back up for fifth. This is a much easier assignment and, with a clear run today, he should prove far too good for these rivals. Flat Cap Thursday was a well-held fourth at Cheltenham last month on her debut but also drops in class and could be the one for the forecast. Bennys Well looks the pick of the newcomers.
