The Ferbane Man has won over hurdles and twice over fences but is not the most consistent. Bounds And Leaps looks to be going the right way while Exeter winner Victors Serenade could be in the grip of the handicapper now but must be given a good chance back in novice company. Preference is for GENTLE BOB, who has improved in leaps and bounds in his three starts. He was a good second over 2m 1f at Exeter last time in a similar contest to this and has very little to find to score here.

Winning doesn't come easy to this lot but KINKEEL has come a long way down the weights and is 5lb lower than his last winning mark. Once considered good enough to race at the top level, his recent solid third over 2m at Southwell off a 6lb higher mark suggests he can score here. Duke Of Malfi has also won off higher marks but needs to improve on his four efforts this season while Organiz has disappointed of late but can be given a chance on his best form.

Winning hurdler FLEUR DE VASSY is making steady progress over fences, and finished third over 2m 4f at Plumpton last time on only her second start over the bigger obstacles. She needs to improve again but this step up in trip should help and she looks capable of landing the spoils. Romney Marsh has put in a string of good efforts but may need some help from the handicapper, a remark that also applies to Bajan Sunshine. Atherstone Jill was a good second off this mark at Warwick and looks the danger.

Pret A Thou clocked up a trio of wins around this time last year and is expected to mount a bold bid today but preference is for COOLBEG, who has less miles on the clock. He showed plenty of encouraging signs when fourth on his racecourse debut in a bumper at Bangor in November and jumped well on the whole first time over hurdles at Uttoxeter 23 days ago. Old Way is another worthy of consideration after an encouraging introduction at Taunton.

Preuty Boy attracted plenty of market support when fourth in a ''jumpers' bumper'' at Southwell last time and could well be one worth noting on his chasing debut, but CHAMIREY sets the standard. Although not the most straightforward, he did turn over the high-class Tricky Trickster in a hurdle race last season and produced his best effort since tackling fences when third at Sedgefield latest. Not So Prudent is open to plenty of improvement and cannot be overlooked.

It could pay to side with ARCTIC FLOW in what looks a tricky 'getting out stakes' for punters. She is sure to arrive here full of confidence after opening her account over 2m5f at Plumpton three weeks ago and a 6lb rise in the handicap looks reasonable. Low Delta's only victory to date came over this C&D and he is 5lb lower now, while The Rustlin Rhino wouldn't be without a chance if finding top gear.
