SOUTHFORK caught the eye when fifth on testing ground at Roscommon 11 days ago and that first start over hurdles is expected to have brought him on. The son of Nayef is taken to use that experience to his advantage and he's open to more improvement but the beautifully-bred Lady Geronimo is worth keeping a close eye on in the build up, while Porterman rates best of the rest.
This doesn't look a strong event and a tentative vote goes to Lady Geronimo, who showed fair form on the Flat and should take plenty of beating if transferring that ability into this sphere. Southfork, Mr Lando and Another Duchess may prove the biggest dangers to the selection.

Echo Bob is no stranger to success around here and Henry De Bromhead's C&D winner must come into the reckoning. Willie Mullins' 134-rated RATTAN is tough to oppose, however, and he should have enough class to give weight away to this select field. King High's recent form figures are somewhat uninspiring but he's capable of much better and looks most likely to cause the front two in the market a problem, while Norther Bay must step up considerably.
Rattan comes out top on offical ratings and is likely to be a warm order, but this is unlikely to be run to suit and a chance is taken on Echo Bob, who has been holding his form well and may get an easy lead. King High is taken to win the battle for third.

Ta Blazes is the sole runner going to post boasting C&D winning form but the veteran GIVE US A HAND makes most appeal on the back of two creditable efforts over fences the last twice. The ten-year-old has showed no signs of throwing in the towel and both recent Punchestown efforts suggested he maintains a healthy level of enthusiasm for the game. Switched to timber for this assignment, off a mark of 87, he's taken to get back to winning ways, while Kai Li completes the shortlist.
Give Us A Hand was in good form over fences when last seen in May and is selected to take advantage of his lower mark, with the prevailing conditions unlikely to pose a problem. Pretty Happy and Ta Blazes look the biggest dangers to the selection.

DEAREST GIRL left a lasting impression when third in a Limerick maiden last time out and the daughter of Galileo is expected to go very close off this mark of 98 on her handicap bow. She was keen enough over the 2m4f on that occasion and probably did well to finish as close as she did to the eventual winner, so she's worth another look and should have more to offer. Point The Toes and Willies Girl are others to take seriously.
Misty Weather didn't quite live up to expectations on her handicap debut last time, but she looks worth giving another chance here. Heavenly Chorus and Point The Toes are generally consistent and look likely to fight it out for minor honours.

WESTERN PROMISE won with a bit in hand over 3m at Roscommon last week and a 7lb rise might not be enough to prevent another big run from him. Bruff and Bishop's Lane both finished behind him on that occasion and whilst they have place claims, there is no obvious reason why they should reverse that form. Preswell Lad could figure if reproducing the pick of his hurdles form back over larger obstacles.

Willie Mullins has won this race for the last three years and he can complete the four-timer with GREAT JONES. A full brother to Group 3 winner Rabatash, he could be a cut above these rivals. Roman Numeral shaped nicely when third at Sligo last time and he has solid place claims here with further improvement likely. Goodtime Boy makes some appeal on paper and any confidence behind him would be interesting.
Great Jones represents a top yard with a good record in this sphere, but he does have a Flat-based pedigree and, given the testing conditions, it may pay to side with Roman Numeral, who ran well when last seen in May and makes his debut for a new yard here. Glenmullen Bridge is also respected.
