Verdict

GOLDEN ASPEN has been knocking and should give another good showing, however, there are a few looking to challenge. STAR AGLOW started poorly after needing her last outing and will come on. BACK TO FORMENTERA did well in both her starts and will relish the longer distance. MANAAJIM was supported on debut but was not striding out - respect. She is coupled with debutante MARIA'S WORLD - watch and respect money for another newcomer SACRED VALLEY.

Verdict

Good race. Both MANHATTAN and SAN QUINTIN ran on powerfully in the closing stages on their debut debut runs and both will come on lengths over the longer distance. ABAYYAAN eased in the betting on debut but wasn't disgraced and will know more about it. GLOBAL PLAYER is running close up and shouldn't be far off again. EARL needed his last run and will come on heaps. Stable companion IMMEASURABLE is holding form and shouldn't be far off. GREAT WARRIOR hasn't been far back recently and must be considered. Verdict

Small but competitive field with all 7 runners capable of pulling it off. THE KOP was soundly beaten by REUNION (3kg worse off) but then went on to win both subsequent runs with consummate ease. The latter has ability but is extremely moody. SOUTHERN SONG is running well and looking to double up over this trip. IMPERIAL MASTER and OUR COYS are holding form and could get into the reckoning.

Verdict

Tricky where weight could be the decider. NETTA carries a hefty 62kg after a rest and gives SENTBYDESTINY 4kg while the latter gives MAGICAL FLIGHT 5.5kg. They all were behind War Of Athena and it could get close all round. BALLET SHOES and other inmate SMOKING HOT come off rests and could just need it. Verdict

GOT THE GREENLIGHT and MK'S PRIDE renew rivalry in the Joburg Spring Challenge. In the Hawaii Stakes the latter proved 0.50 lengths better but is 3.5kg worse off. However, the inside track is easier but 50m further. Great race. BINGWA, EXPRESSFROMTHEUS and TIERRA DEL FUEGO appear held on their last run. MR FLOOD tries further now and even though bred for the extra could be found wanting. COPPER MOUNTAIN could flash up late for money, being fresh.
