Residence And Spa is proving expensive to follow but while the Tim Easterby charge is beginning to looks exposed, he shouldn't be completely discounted. MEMORABILIA shaped with plenty of promise on his debut at Fontwell last month and is entitled to have come on for the experience. Fast ground seemed to play into his hands and he hinted that a drop in trip would suit. Prince Freddie is another to consider after a promising start at Perth.

It would be no surprise to see the veteran chaser Jeringa put a disappointing last campaign behind him but preference is for ARCHIE'S WISH. The Micky Hammond charge has come back down to what looks a workable mark and the drop in trip is also expected to bring about marked improvement. Winning form on a similar quick surface also bodes well but keep a watchful eye on Hurricane Jack, who looks to have got the hang of things now.

SHARADIYN steps back into the handicap ranks having recently recorded a double in novice hurdle company and with conditions in his favour, the gelded son of Generous is taken to defy this mark of 117 as he continues on an upward curve. Lap Of Honour can boast C&D winning form and shouldn't be overlooked while, at the forecast prices, Glorybe makes plenty of appeal with further improvement a distinct possibility.

HORSESHOE REEF wasn't at all disgraced on similar ground at Uttoxeter last time out and the Jamie Snowden representative remains feasibly treated off this mark of 119. The eight-year-old shaped as though he was comfortably ahead of the assessor when scoring off 110 at the Midlands track the time before and there could still be more to come. Meet The Critics was successful when last seen at Newbury in March and warrants the utmost respect on his return while Persian Gates rates best of the remainder.

It may be worth taking a chance on the Irish raider BENEFIQUE here. She hasn't proved the most consistent since landing a maiden hurdle at Tramore in April but the pick of her form might be good enough to see off these rivals. Bunratty, just pipped at Hexham latest on his third start over timber, could prove the danger if handling the step up in trip but Bennys Well, a close second in a Towcester bumper on his only start, could go well.

This should go the way of BLENHEIM BROOK. Following an impressive hurdles win at Perth, he returned from a summer break to finish second over 2m5f at the same track on his chasing debut last month. He is entitled to strip fitter for that outing and can go one better. Mr Moss, placed in both starts over fences, is clearly going the right way and looks the danger but dual point-to-point scorer Tax Benefit needs to improve on his chasing debut effort.

STRONG KNIGHT raced a little too keenly on his hurdling debut at Sedgefield last month but was only beaten into second in the closing stages. With that experience under his belt, he can improve enough to go one better today. The danger looks to be Descaro, placed four times over timber but starting to look a little exposed now. High Hoylander, Nicholas Pocock and Teal Star could also be given chances in this company.

Zulu Principle (sixth on the Flat at Leicester yesterday) has been unplaced in all six starts over timber but the fact he has been sent here from Ireland must be noted. Gumball has been placed in both starts in bumpers, just failing at Stratford latest, and is expected to go well on his hurdling debut but preference is for AMTIRED, a close second over this trip at Market Rasen first time over timber and with little to find to score here.
