Global Harmony sets a decent standard having got off the mark in impressive fashion at Wincanton, but she could be vulnerable under a 6lb penalty. With that in mind, preference is for TEQUILA BLAZE, who pulled 22 lengths clear of the third when filling second place at Lingfield last month. Hollymount Holly has to be respected on her return to action, while Fairfield Ferrata completes the shortlist.

SLAINTE MHOR bounced back to form when finishing a close second at Ayr late last month and the son of Milan merits the utmost respect, despite a 3lb rise in the ratings. Quick Pick has improved with every start this year and he should not be underestimated in a first-time visor. The shortlist is completed by Eagle De Guye, Mill Race King and Eau Top.

IMPERIAL ICON took a big step forward when shedding his maiden tag at Hereford a month ago and a 6lb rise for that victory may not be enough to stop him from taking this contest as well. Cyrus Keep has made the frame on his last couple of starts and should be thereabouts once again. High Moor Flyer edges out Brother Pat to be the pick of the remainder.

JOHNBB was an impressive winner over C&D on his seasonal debut and the unexposed six-year-old appears the one to beat on the back of that performance. Time To Get Up is another lightly-raced gelding and he caught the eye when finishing third on his return to action at Aintree. He is likely to have more improvement left to come and should not be discounted. Others to consider are Demi Sang, Mercian Prince and Ravenhill Road.

It is interesting that Spiritofthegames tries three miles for the first time under Rules following his brave second in the Paddy Power Gold Cup, and handler Dan Skelton won this in 2017. The well-regarded Windsor Avenue is another heading up in distance and represents the yard that landed this in 2016 with Definitly Red. However, it may be best to side with proven stamina so the nod goes to WANDRIN STAR, who thrived following wind surgery when going down by just a head in a competitive Ascot contest. He may be 4lb higher, but Kim Bailey is having a fine season and his nine-year-old will be staying on all the way up the long home straight. Snow Leopardess proved her own resilience when scoring at Haydock, and her C&D second to Shan Blue from earlier this season could be a smart piece of form.

Kilbrook, who has undergone wind surgery since his latest outing, has yet to run a bad race and merits respect on his debut in handicap company, but preference is for the dropped-in-class MINT CONDITION. He certainly wasn't disgraced when bidding to complete the hat-trick at Aintree last time and will benefit from Lilly Pinchin's valuable 5lb claim. The Sue Smith pair Small Present and Thelongwayaround also warrant consideration.

Handicap debutant TROOPER TURNBULL has an attractive, progressive profile and there are no ground concerns after he opened his account on soft at Kelso. An initial mark of 116 looks fair and he could complete the double. Applaus arrives following solid win and placed efforts at Carlisle and he is likely to be in the shake-up again. Pencreek, Orkan and Just The Man add further spice to the race.
