NUTCRACKER has filled the runner-up spot on either side of July's course win and he looks worth keeping on side with the promising apprentice rider Myla Coppins taking a handy 5lb off his back. Mythical Isle was probably caught a little too far back over C&D latest but he should be more than capable in a race of this nature, likewise R P Mcmurphy.

Phalanx Nation has shown a tendency to race freely so far, so it comes as no surprise to see connections reach for headgear now. She finished third to subsequent Group 3 winner Moonrise at Kempton back in May and remains of interest, but this can go to IRIS OLIVIA, who looked in need of further when keeping on into second over 6f last time. Stable companion Jessica is also noted.

Norman Invasion kept on well into fourth over 1m2f at Newbury but, although respected, dropping in trip doesn't look the obvious move on that evidence, whereas returning to further does appear likely to suit MEDIA LEGEND. A creditable third last time out, he's now 1lb lower and this also represents a drop in grade. Hamda's Joy is another to consider.

Lucky Luna didn't run too badly on her handicap debut at Southwell and boasts claims upped in trip, while Booziebrunch has yet to run a poor race this year and is another who can be in the mix. However, the vote goes to VARIETY ACT. Sir Mark Prescott's gelding showed clear ability in three maiden/novice contests and ought to do better now handicapping, especially because an opening mark of 71 looks fair.

Midnight Media made it two wins from her last three starts at Nottingham and holds an obvious chance again, but PERFECT RULER is preferred. Marco Botti's filly won by half a length over a mile at Lingfield, whilst shaping as if this step up in distance would be a good move. Off just a 3lb higher rating, she looks the one to beat. Melting Snow is another to consider.

SHE'S A GIFT found only an in-form rival too strong over C&D in July and she was over three lengths clear of the third. Rossa Ryan takes over the reins, which looks notable, and the application of a first-time tongue-tie could eke out the required improvement. Doralee struck in a classified stakes at Redcar and is respected back in handicap company, while The Fixer isn't out of this either.

Chasing Gold has held his form well since winning at Yarmouth in June and the son of Twilight Son ought to be on the premises again. However, RYE was beaten two lengths into second when last seen over this C&D in April and, if returning to that level of form, she should go very close. Forever My Prince also merits consideration.

Sansanetti regained the winning thread over 1m2f at Lingfield on her latest outing and needs to be taken seriously, but a chance can be taken on SEVENKINGSMUSTDIE. The son of Sea The Stars has been sent off at huge prices in each of his three starts on the Flat, but it's quite possible that he could take a significant step forward now pitched into handicaps. Previous C&D winner Luan may also have a say.
