SMOKETHATTHUNDERS went down by just a neck when returned to 7f here last time out and wouldn't need to improve much on that level of form to score off the same mark. Dream Scenario, third behind the selection last time, went down by only half a length in defeat himself that day and has an obvious chance off an unchanged rating. Spellmaker is 6-16 on the all-weather but would have made stronger appeal over a sprint trip. He's yet to place in four previous starts beyond 6f.

PORTAMENTO was beaten by under a length in a Listed contest at Doncaster in October and sets a clear form standard on that effort. Charlie Appleby's colt struck over this trip on his sole all-weather run on the Polytrack at Lingfield in August and is impossible to oppose purely from a form perspective. Apache Storm could be the best option for the forecast in view of his Kempton maiden victory in October. Shackled N Drawn struck in a Lingfield maiden last month and looks best of the rest.

CILENTO showed up well on debut when beaten by just a neck into third over this trip at Kempton. The experience gained is unlikely to have been lost on John Gosden's charge, who is expected to improve on that effort and give a good account this evening. Many of the others with racecourse experience to their name have to raise their game in order to figure, so any market support for newcomers Sciustree and Silent Thunder would be noteworthy.

YORKSHIREMAN put three lengths between himself and runner-up Lacey over C&D two weeks ago and is expected to confirm the form with Andrew Hollinshead's charge even though reopposing on 4lb worse terms. Royal Trooper has been raised 4lb for scoring over 1m4f here last time and should be thereabouts. Another shortlisted is the eased-in-grade Carlanda, who has a 196-day break to overcome and replaces the hood worn last time with cheekpieces.

PERSONAL OPINION made it 3-3 at this track when scoring over 1m4f here last weekend and is expected to build on that effort, which was his first start since August. He's been handed a 4lb rise but did well to score from off the pace that day and could improve again for this stiffer test. Unanimite gave a good account of himself in a Grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham when last sighted and is interesting on his first Flat run in the UK (has won in France over 1m1f). Street Artist steps up in grade but is dangerous from the front and one to respect in his bid for a hat-trick.

BALTIC PRINCE is thriving at the moment and followed up his 7f course victory with another distance success at Kempton on Wednesday. Tony Carroll's four-year-old is turned out under a penalty for the latter victory and is unlikely to go down without a fight in his bid to land a hat-trick. It's All A Game is 2lb higher than his Southwell victory over 1m last month and can battle it out with recent C&D second My Renaissance for the minor honours.

ROYAL BATTALION bumped into one when second to novice hurdle winner John Reel over 1m6f here last month and is expected to improve for the run - his first start since July - and also this drop in distance. Salmon Sushi turned in an improved display when a hood was fitted for the first time and he was stepped up to 1m2f at Lingfield latest, and may do better still over 1m4f. A stiffer test also promises to suit Urban Castle, who was fourth over the extended 1m1f here on debut.
