Willie Mullins won this last year with the formidable Vautour, so Argentino has some big boots to fill. He was a fair sort on the level in France and could well be capable of landing this, but THE BIG APPLE has hurdling experience to his name which could tilt the balance in his favour. Christy Roche's charge was pitched into Listed company for his first effort over timber in March and showed the benefit of that experience when landing a bumper at Naas on his return. Hold The Line was a smart sort on the Flat and is interesting on his hurdling debut, while Kilclispeen represents Aidan O'Brien and is a full-brother to smart hurdler Sheamus.

CLARCAM could prove very tough to beat here. A winner over hurdles on his reappearance at Limerick, he put in a decent show on his fencing bow, only finding Vautour too strong. Time may show that to be a huge effort, and he is taken to get the better of Un Beau Roman, who was a fair second in a Punchestown Grade 2 last time but has to give lumps of weight to the selection. Un Beau Roman's stablemate Florishwells D'Ete has a very light weight so shouldn't be forgotten, while Sizing Codelco fell on his chasing debut but could prove better than that.

A huge field of novices does increase the chances of a few hard luck stories, but KILLEENA HOUSE was never far off the early pace when second over 2m here when last seen and a similar effort over this longer trip could reap dividends for the former point winner. Gordon Elliott's French import Antilope Du Seuil has to be respected after winning an amateur riders' maiden at Fontainebleau, while Pros 'N' Cons was completely unfancied at Thurles last time, but kept on well for second and could improve. Bumper winner Josephine Marcus has a hood applied for her hurdling bow and is another to note.

Cheltenham Foxhunter Chase winner TAMMYS HILL enjoys a much lower mark over timber, and exploited 7lb lower when successful over shorter at Cork in October. The step up to this trip should negate the handicapper's rise and he can strike again. Western Promise won nicely over timber at Thurles and is interesting despite a 10lb rise, as he has run well off a higher mark than this over fences recently, while Ancient Highway was eight lengths back in fourth at Thurles so could get much closer on these revised terms.

With Empire Of Dirt yet to fully convince over fences and Flaming Dawn yet to get anywhere near his best hurdling form in two chase starts, this could be between Wounded Warrior and BLOOD COTIL. The former was a good second to Don Poli at Gowran last time, but Willie Mullins' charge was high class over timber and returned to action with a good second to Gilgamboa over two miles here last month. The step up in trip should suit, and he can strike.

Both Smokey Joe Joe and Heavenly Brook come into this contest on the back of a couple of second-placed finishes and cannot be ruled out, while Seriatim has slipped down to a fair mark if finding his best over fences. It could be worth siding with ITS THE ICE I LIKE, though, as he met some trouble in running when a well-supported fifth at Naas last time and considering that market support, there could be more to come.

TURCAGUA was sent off an odds-on favourite for his racecourse debut at Fairyhouse and though he could only manage third on that occasion, he is likely to come on for the experience. Dallas Cowboy filled the runner-up spot on his sole start between the flags and is respected for Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown, while Noel Meade saw fit to plunge Bonny Kate straight into Listed company on her debut so she could have plenty to offer here.
