Stir Trader landed a 6f course maiden in fine style nine days ago and he will be very popular on his handicap mark off a mark of 74, but slight preference is for CHOKIDAR. The selection landed a similar C&D event on his final start of 2011 and returned with a good third in a higher grade at Goodwood in August. With that run under his belt and back on his preferred surface, he can make the most of the drop in class today. Light From Mars is up 4lb for a C&D victory and completes the shortlist.

This shouldn't take much winning and it could pay to side with CLUBLAND, a comfortable winner of a Southwell handicap before two disappointing efforts on turf. The return to an artificial surface and this drop in grade should help him return to form. A repeat of First Fast Now's second in a 5f Kempton handicap on her penultimate outing would give her strong claims, while Sonko takes a marked drop in grade and must be considered.

BROUGHTONS CHARM, a 52,000gns a half-sister to four winners, went into plenty of notebooks on his 6f Kempton debut as he stayed on well for third once the penny dropped. He should have derived considerable benefit from that experience and the front two have advertised the form well since. Ilsa Lund, Meeting In Paris and Yahilwa also showed ability first time out but they have to prove they can do it on the all-weather, while Godolphin newcomers warrant the utmost respect and the Saeed Bin Suroor-trained debutant is no exception.

Maltease Ah continues to perform consistently well and another bold bid beckons, but she may find one too good in the shape of MAJESTIC BREEZE, who relished the return to this surface when touched off over C&D three weeks ago. Her sole victory came over this C&D and she looks sure to go close. Avonlini also filled the runner-up spot over this track and trip last time out and warrants respect off the same mark.

AMOURE MEDICI enhanced his course record to 3-6 when scoring over this trip latest and although an 8lb rise leaves him with no margin for error, he retains the services of Graham Lee and looks the safest option. Fellow course winner Haajes has won off higher marks in the past so must be considered a major threat on his Polytrack return, despite not firing on his last two turf starts, while Salacia has it to prove on this surface but her form on turf this year makes her a must for the shortlist.

DELFT had Impel one length back in third when scoring over 6f at Kempton last month, taking her tally to 3-5 on Polytrack. The latter reopposes on 4lb better terms today but Jeremy Noseda's filly was value for more than the winning margin suggests and she can stage a follow up with further progress very possible. Sound Amigo has been knocking hard on the door but a rising handicap mark doesn't help his chances of gaining a deserved success.

GOLDMADCHEN returned to form with a 1m success at Ayr last week and escapes a penalty today, so gets the nod to repeat the dose here. She has gone well over this longer trip before and has performed well on Polytrack. Despite showing very little on turf this season, it would be dangerous to rule out C&D winner Quiet Appeal on his return to Polytrack, but a bigger threat may be posed by Visions Of Johanna, a dual C&D winner who is very well handicapped now.

C&D winner Cross The Boss is 10lb higher than when scoring at Newcastle last month and the burden of top-weight may prove too much. Of more appeal is RASSELAS, up 4lb for his C&D win 10 days ago but he did the job with a bit in hand and is still 20lb lower than his highest winning mark on turf. Thrust Control continues to perform well in defeat and he should be thereabouts again.
