DUQUESA's handicap debut success over this trip at Nottingham on Wednesday was a big improvement on her three maiden efforts, including one polytrack start, and a 6lb penalty may not be enough to halt her if she's in the same mood tonight. That is no guarantee, however, and Beverley selling handicap winner One Cool Bex could be the one to capitalise on his all-weather bow if the selection fluffs her lines. Rylee Mooch has been running well in defeat since switching to handicaps and is worth a second look along with Country Waltz, who didn't look suited by the soft ground when bidding to complete a double behind the selection last time out.

Paul Howling has his string in good order at present and he has sound claims again here with White Shift, a C&D distance winner who races off a 3lb higher mark than when striking at Kempton last week. However, he only scored by half a length from KINGI (Charlie Delta fifth) that day and the latter is weighted to turn the tables with a 3lb swing in the weights. All three of Ride A White Swan's wins came over this C&D and he is another to consider back off the mark of his most recent success.

JARIDH shaped like a certain future winner when staying on very well to get within a nose of making his debut a winning one over this C&D last month and, with the Godolphin outfit continuing to fire on all cylinders, he should go one better this evening. Oversteer disappointed at skinny odds last time out but John Gosden's charge cannot be ruled out on his all-weather bow, although a bigger threat to the selection appears to be Irons On Fire. Brian Meehan's charge was doing his best work at the finish once the penny dropped when fourth over 7f on debut and will relish this step up in trip.

RIOT POLICE has improved in each of his three starts thus far and should be able to make it fourth time lucky. He had useful horses either side of him when runner-up over 7f at Goodwood last time and a repeat performance may well be good enough. Claret'N'Blue and Scented look best of the others with experience but it's Mahmood Al Zarooni's 350,000-guinea purchase and Derby entry, Maywood, who looks the most likely danger first time out. The betting market could prove best guide to his chances.

Red Kestrel stuck his neck out all the way to the line when runner-up over 1m6f at Musselburgh last time and should benefit from this climb in trip, but RESPLENDENT ACE looks like the one that they all have to beat. The six-year-old won with plenty in hand when recording his eighth career success over an extended 1m5f here recently and a 4lb rise in the handicap may not be enough to prevent him from going in again. Chocolate Caramel is very well handicapped on best form and cannot be left out of calculations.

MALE MODEL built on a highly promising Kempton debut effort when running out a comfortable winner over this trip at Redcar last month and an initial mark of 85 looks fair. Well drawn, the Godolphin operation are always to be feared when represented on the all-weather circuit and this Iffraaj colt remains open to further improvement. Tinkertown has some decent turf form and would be a serious threat if taking to the all-weather, while it could be too early to write off course winner Lenjawi Pride who has been handed some stiff assignments since opening her account here back in May.

BUSHWHACKER has already finished second in a couple of turf maidens and turned in another highly creditable effort when finishing fifth in a handicap here off a mark of 73 last month. Returning to maiden company, his claims would appear rock solid with the booking of Paul Hanagan an obvious plus. Doc Hay can be be expected to improve from his soft ground Windsor debut effort although the experienced Nadinska ought to give her running again and is taken to prove the main danger to the selection.

Another trappy affair to close with but FIREHAWK but only found the progressive Straversjoy too strong when second over this C&D last month and armed with a good draw tonight, he is fancied to go one better racing of only a 1lb higher mark. Miss Whippy was a winner around here last time and and merits obvious respect in her follow up bid with the consistent Honoured another expected to figure again.
