POLAR FOREST took advantage of a declining handicap mark when landing the spoils at Newcastle and a 4lb rise still leaves him fairly treated on the pick of his efforts from last year. New Agenda should appreciate the greater emphasis on stamina after staying on into third over an extended mile here, while Noguchi has recorded five victories around here and could go well if fit enough after 318 days off the track.

RHOMBUS should prove incredibly difficult to beat on these terms if fit enough after a 468-day absence. He won a handicap from a mark of 95 on his penultimate start and a performance anywhere near that level would suffice. Hard To Handel has his first try at the trip but will have to settle a lot better in the first-time hood if he is to see it out. Street Outlaw has plenty to find on official figures but was a winner here over 1m6f in July and may have further improvement to come after only seven starts.

HIGH COMMAND registered a double in facile fashion over this trip at Southwell and a 6lb penalty should not prevent him from completing a hat-trick. Skilled is something of an unknown quantity on his debut for Anabel Murphy after winning twice over timber when trained in Ireland. The market may help determine his chances, while Snowy Dawn appears the only other realistic contender after he posted another creditable effort when fifth over two miles at Newcastle.

Doctor Bartolo failed to enhance his chances when starting slowly and then getting caught wide on the first bend before finishing second over seven furlongs here last month. A wide draw is enough to look elsewhere and preference is for SOLENT MEADS, who improved for the step up to a mile when fourth at Chelmsford and could progress again now encountering a greater emphasis on stamina. Pattie finished ahead of Nostalgie at Newcastle and they look the pick of the remainder.

Poetic Force is the highest rated in the field and was a winner over C&D last month. A bold bid seems assured, despite the burden of conceding weight all round, but preference is for BAZWIND. David Evans' gelding didn't appear to handle Southwell when last seen but he landed a similar event to this on his penultimate start and appears worth another chance. Life Won't Wait hinted at ability in what seemed a decent maiden at Newcastle and is entitled to improve for that initial outing.

Little strength in depth and this represents a decent opportunity for TARSEEKH to get off the mark. Roger Varian's son of Kyllachy improved on his debut effort to finish third over a mile at Lingfield and a reproduction of that effort may suffice. Amor Invicto rates the biggest threat after improving for the fitting of blinkers to finish third over a mile at Chelmsford. Belabour would not have to be anything special to mount a challenge on debut and the market should prove the best guide to what is expected.

Jumbo Prado bounced back to form in some style when landing a claimer here earlier in the month and his win record of 7-23 at this course entitles him to respect under Adam Kirby. Cadeau Magnifique has done nothing wrong in finishing second on his last two starts and deserves a change in luck, but SANDS CHORUS hinted his turn was near when going down by under a length over C&D last month and can defy the burden of top weight.
