Volcanic Dust has dropped to a tasty looking mark as he scored off 11lb higher on turf last year. Recent efforts leave plenty to be desired, however, and the safest option is JUARLA, who boasts C&D winning form and has a solid strike-rate on this surface. The selection is 4lb above his last winning all-weather mark but has one of the strongest riders in the race on his back and should be positioned to challenge. Mister Mackenzie went close in a maiden here latest and holds place claims, along with the well-drawn Silkee Supreme.

Tom Dascombe has been amongst the winners lately and knows how to ready a newcomer so any money for Golden Pursuit, who is a half-brother to five winners, would be worth heeding. However, with the benefit of previous racecourse experience to his name, preference is for CAPTAIN CRUZ, a 10,000 euros yearling that is entitled to better his debut fourth at Nottingham now upped in trip with the benefit of a run behind him. Mr Paranoia and Pearl Noir both have place possibilities.

RHAGORI AUR arrives here on the back of a victory in a 0-95 event at Musselburgh last month. The race was weak for the grade, with the top-weight rated 15lb below the ceiling, but today's race looks of comparable quality and she wouldn't need to find a great deal of improvement to follow up off 5lb higher. Vestibule is expected to improve now dropping back in trip and has place claims along with Ovett, who was sixth in an Ascot conditions race latest, and the eased-in-grade Secret Sign.

Purple 'n Gold is respected on these terms and, as one of the three-year-olds in the race, is open to more improvement than many of his rivals. He does, however, have a poor run at Salisbury to overcome, so might be worth taking on with JUSTBOOKIE DOT COM, who boasts winning C&D form, ran well in a handicap here recently and has the assistance of Adam Kirby in the plate today. Conducting will appreciate this drop in class and is another with place prospects.

NEIGE D'ANTAN can be marked up for his last run over C&D last Thursday. He ended up dead-heating for second after being held up in the early stages, but the winner was allowed a soft lead and the selection can therefore be given another chance in the hope there is a faster pace to chase. Neil's Pride has bits and pieces of placed form over further and could improve for this drop in trip while there is likely better to come from Lady Intrigue if she is match fit on her return from a 422-day break.

Slipstream Angel stayed on at the one pace when second over 6f at Ayr last time and will appreciate this extra furlong, but there are plenty of potential improvers lurking amongst the handicap debutants and a chance is taken on BEST TO BETTER. Marco Botti's Acclamation filly cost 30,000gns as a juvenile and shaped as if this longer trip would be ideal when staying on for fourth over shorter at Kempton last month. Al Khisa and Pearl Bounty are others for the shortlist.

Darnathean went down by just a nose over this trip at Kempton earlier in the month and commands plenty of respect off an unchanged rating. His profile suggests he's no certainty to back that effort up, however, so a chance is taken on THE KICKING LORD, who ran his best race to date in a C&D maiden last time and looks on a fair mark now switching to handicaps. Lindoro appeals most of the remainder now stepping back up in trip and has place possibilities.

Trusting is only 2lb higher than when scoring by a neck over this trip at Kempton earlier in the month and is expected to go well, along with recent course (6f) runner-up Forzarzi, who may improve for the step up to this longer trip. Preferred ahead of both, however, is COMMUNITY, who was chasing a hat-trick when disappointing at Chepstow but is entitled to improve now returned to 7f, with Adam Kirby an interesting booking for the Jamie Osborne yard.
