Plenty in with a decent chance, none more so than ex-Irish WINTER STAR, an unlucky loser on his British debut when hampered after jumping the last flight at Perth in April. Leamington Lad, who acts well on fast ground and regularly makes the frame at this level, represents one of many dangers to the selection. Tide Slider showed improved form to chase home an odds-on shot at Market Rasen, a progression quite likely to be maintained, especially as this slight drop back in trip should suit.

Opposing near-certain hot-favourite SIMONDIUN may prove unwise given the way he hacked up at this course in June. The first-time blinkers did the trick that day and with the headgear kept on, plus another half-mile to travel, a follow-up success looks on the cards. None of the others have any chance according to the official ratings, however both Gaelic Present and Shergill should be on the premises if the selection fails to get round in one piece. Former winning point-to-pointer Maire De Beaulieu makes his Rules debut and could be the dark horse of the race, see the market for clues.

Vibe often flatters only to deceive and in the circumstances it may prove better to side with CHARMAHAL, a winner at this trip over hurdles who put up a sound effort on only his second chasing start when fourth at Uttoxeter. It was only a claiming hurdle that Dancewiththedevil won over C&D in June, nonetheless he did the job with the minimum of fuss and is a serious each-way player. Another recent track and trip scorer, A Sea Commander, has more to do in this stronger race.

RAPSCALLION, successful at this level at Fakenham earlier in the year, has acquitted himself fairly well since and just gets the nod over Zamboozle, who was far from disgraced when fourth in what looked an above-average Plumpton claiming hurdle in May. Rawaabet enters calculations on his latest Towcester fourth, a remark that also applies to Bond Cruz, winner of a selling handicap hurdle over C&D a fortnight ago and clearly on very good terms with himself at present.

An excellent race in prospect with several in-form rivals, none more so than the hat-trick-seeking THAT LOOK, who defied a 10lb hike to win at Huntingdon in late May. He's now up another 7lb, but is highly-progressive and gets the vote over Lord Baskerville, a sound each-way bet on the evidence of his last two runs, notably when beating a couple of useful opponents at Sedgefield. Dovedale is going great guns having prevailed on her last two visits to Exeter, a 15lb rise doesn't make her task any easier, however that's not to say she'll wave the white flag when push comes to shove.

SEA WALL, successful off 115 in a long-distance handicap hurdle at Hereford a few days ago, is still comparatively well-in at the weights over fences off a mark of only 100. Tony McCoy's mount is a sound enough jumper although still faces stern competition from Blaze Ahead, nailed close home at Towcester when bidding to follow up a previous victory at the course. Mister Apple's is woefully one-paced, however he can normally be relied upon to get round unscathed and could appeal to investors preferring to adopt the each-way angle.

EASY DANCER didn't quite seem to last home on his recent Rules debut in a similar event at Towcester. This far easier track might suit the selection's running style and is given a second chance having previously let down favourite backers. None of the others with public form make much appeal, which brings into the equation newcomer The Duckster, hailing from a smart jumping family and a yard which knows the time of day. Knockiterra Lass is related to a bumper winner and worth a look in the market to see if she's the subject of positive vibes.
