A modest contest where you can make very few cases. If ADAM DU BRETEAU's jumping holds up, he looks the most likely winner based on his Kempton run when staying on after making two shocking mistakes on the way round. The son of Network has since disappointed at Uttoxeter over hurdles but this looks a very winnable contest. Replacement Plan makes some appeal making his chase debut, while Bennys Girl is entitled to improve for better ground having ran below par when pulled up on heavy at Cork back in March.

ADAM DU BRETEAU presumably needed the run when reappearing over hurdles earlier this month and much is better expected from Jonjo O'Neill's charge now back over fences with blinkers also refitted. Firm Order has largely struggled in recent times but he's potentially a classy sort for this level if a break has revitalised him, while it's still early days for Abigail Lynch with the Kerry Lee yard.

Gardiners Hill was the subject of support when third over this trip at Uttoxeter last time and is the one expected to put up most resistance. ALCOCK AND BROWN improved for his hurdling debut when successful over C&D earlier this month and on that evidence the son of Oasis Dream is the one they all have to beat. Nikki Steel looks to be the biggest threat based on form but he is rated 5lb inferior to the selection but has to give him 2lb. The rest have questions to answer, although Scarlet Minstrel was useful on the Flat (once rated 80) and it would not be a surprise to see him go well on his hurdling debut.

Preference is for the Neil Mulholland representative because his form is marginally stronger and he looked to be much improved in a first-time tongue-tie last time. Trafalgar Rock bolted up on his debut over hurdles at Uttoxeter and is fully entitled to find more improvement, while Mere Anarchy needs to bounce back from a couple of moderate runs but his form prior to that was respectable.

DESERTER was an impressive eight-length winner on his handicap debut at Southwell and with the sixth subsequently franking that form with an easy win of his his own, Warren Greatrex's gelding will be strongly fancied to follow up off the same mark of 100. Earls Fort has posted a couple of solid efforts in defeat and he warrants respect, while Pattara, Dropzone and Primo Rossi make up the shortlist.
