Slalom has been very consistent of late and should make the frame again here, but could struggle to beat two of the hurdling newcomers, SQUARE MILE and Noble Sham. The former has won both of his bumpers in good style and although he has been off the course for over a year, he should be fit enough to do himself justice and will appreciate this step-up in trip. The latter should also improve over this extra half mile, but may have to settle for second best once again.

Cresswell Gold put in her best effort for some time when finishing third at Newton Abbot last month (Wild Tempo 2 1/2 lengths back in fifth), and there should be little between the pair again here. CAP CLASSIQUE gets the nod, however, after showing bits and pieces of form in novice company, and he is taken to improve further and score on his handicap debut.

QABAS makes his chasing debut today and is taken to make it a winning one. Peter Bowen's charge put in a decent effort over hurdles on his most recent start, and although that was back in July, he goes well fresh and can beat the more experienced Mylo. The Jonjo O'Neill-trained gelding has finished second on three of his four starts over fences, but his jumping has been far from convincing, and he may have to settle for the runners-up spot again.

MASTER NIMBUS, who beat Don And Gerry by three lengths at Uttoxeter last week, is an improving sort and can defy another penalty to complete his hat-trick. Smart Boy Prince won in convincing fashion to deservedly break his duck over hurdles at Market Rasen last month, and although he is up in class today, he may still prove to be the biggest danger to the selection.

FIGARO DU ROCHER finished a game second on his last start over fences when the ground was against him and he can return to winning ways today on this better surface. Multeen River was not disgraced in the Mildmay Of Flete at the Cheltenham Festival, and had won with a bit in hand on his penultimate start at Warwick, but may just need the run, while The lightly raced Glengarra won in convincing fashion at Stratford last week and could still be improving, but may prefer softer ground.

FLYING SPUR beat a more experienced rival when winning on his racecourse debut at Newton Abbot last month. He can only improve with that run under his belt and can keep his unbeaten record today. Peter Bowen and Jonjo O'Neill are represented by Graham and Briscoe Place respectively, and any significant market moves will be the best guide to their chances.
