Verdict
The reappearing DUFFYS HODEY is something of a handicap blot competing over fences for just the second time. It took until last season for him to show worthwhile and consistent form but, in that time, he climbed from a hurdles rating of 81 to 112. He was pulled up on his sole chase start in January 2024 but is better than that, likes soft ground and an experienced 7lb claimer lightens the burden for good measure. Hitthehayson has been running well, but debuts over fences and seems better on a sound surface. Busy stablemates The Little Yank and Kilashee have won 15 races between them and revert from hurdling.
Expert View Verdict
DUFFYS HODEY is tough to ignore on his return to chasing. He had a valid excuse on his sole start over fences so far but as a result gets to race off a mark 32lb lower than his last hurdles run. Ivar The Boneless was outclassed at Graded level on his reappearance but he is well treated on his old form and could surprise at a price if seeing out the longer trip. Veteran The Little Yank is in good form over hurdles and fences so should be competitive off a workable mark but he won't want any further rain.
