Verdict
Shimmering Sands got up to lead in the final strides over C&D and holds an obvious chance in his bid to follow up, but YERMANTHERE might be the one. Tim Easterby's charge returned to winning ways at Ripon and a 3lb rise may underestimate the level of authority he showed that day. Ephron has yet to completely convince that he stays this far, but still completes the shortlist.
Expert View Verdict
Yermanthere was a winner at Ripon last time and still looks fairly treated off just 3lb higher, but it's SHIMMERING SANDS, who scored over C&D last time, hitting the line in the manner of a horse with more to offer, who is the selection. He's gone up 4lb but rates the likely winner for last year's winning stable. The 3yo Ephron is respected also though he does have to prove his stamina for 10f - he didn't see it out in one previous try.
