Strange Magic has failed to land a blow in all three starts since landing a 6f handicap here on debut, but she has been mixing in hot company and should get competitive at this lower level, with similar comments applicable to My Boy Bill, who impressed on his successful debut three starts ago. The switch to soft ground and 6f saw Gallena break her duck in good style at Bath latest but the drop back in trip for her handicap debut doesn't look ideal, so slight preference is for THARAWAL LADY. John Quinn's charge loves to get her toe in and has slipped back to a 1lb lower mark than when landing a similar event at Haydock in July.

DELORES ROCKET has won her last three on turf, all on ground with cut, and she shaped as though this extra furlong would be no problem when staying on strongly for a comfortable success in the mud at Ayr last week. A 6lb rise doesn't look enough to halt Kevin Ryan's progressive filly and she is taken to get the better of Columella, who is only 3lb higher than when landing a similar contest to this by a length at Warwick latest. Storma Norma picked up the bronze medal over C&D 11 days ago and she can repeat the dose today.

Kingsgate Choice has obvious claims on his impressive Ascot success last month and he was far from disgraced off his revised mark in the Portland at Doncaster, but his best form has come on faster surfaces than he encounters today so preference is for PONTY ACCLAIM. Tim Easterby's charge landed a Group 3 last year and looked back to near her best when a good third on soft ground in a 5f Listed contest at Ascot, a repeat of which may suffice as she returns to handicap company off a tumbling mark. Arctic Feeling missed out by the shortest of margins at Ayr earlier in the month and a 4lb rise certainly doesn't rule him out with conditions to suit again.

LILAC LACE is again pitched against the boys for this maiden on her second career start, but she shaped well enough in a similar Redcar event on easy ground a fortnight ago and that experience is entitled to have brought her forward. Red Charmer is another to note following an improved Beverley display, albeit on quick ground, while Ready has been threatening to win and a creditable Warwick performance latest brings him into the reckoning.

UNDERWRITTEN failed to do himself justice over the extended 1m1f at Hamilton in a similar claimer last time out, but he should go better now stepped up to 1m4f and the Authorized gelding gets in under a nice weight. Samsons Son boasts winning distance form and sets the standard, rated 80, so he's another for the shortlist, along with Arley Hall, who receives weight against the boys and takes a drop in class.

CHOOKIE ROYALE failed to follow up a taking Doncaster performance at Thirsk last time out, but he's up just 1lb for that creditable second and this slight drop back in class can bring about a return to the winner's enclosure. Bunce is another interesting contender and he switches back to the turf scene off what looks a workable mark of 72, while C&D winner Shotley Mac could go well at a generous price.

Talent Scout arrives in the form of his career but doesn't boast the greatest record on easy ground, so it could be worth siding with JUST THE TONIC. There was cut in the ground when she finished runner-up over this trip at Musselburgh last time out and the handicapper has given her another chance off this mark of 64. The threatening Desert Creek and C&D winner Serene Oasis are others to take seriously.

BLUE DUNE is up 6lb for her course success over 2m earlier this month but she won with plenty in hand and is expected to be bounced out in front with a view to making all over this shorter trip. Medieval Bishop displayed some improvement when runner-up on the Fibresand at Southwell last time, so he's a danger at the foot of the weights, but Downtown Boy is feared most in the first-time blinkers following a better Newcastle performance in August.
