HUMDRUM failed to justify even-money favouritism at Ffos Las last month but she appeared to handle the rain-softened ground well and pedigree suggests the return to 7f will help. Newmarket fourth Show Rainbow will be a danger to all if stepping up on her initial effort, while Malacca Straits improved on her debut run when fourth at Kempton and could have more to offer. The latter's stablemate, Moonlight Rhapsody, makes plenty of appeal on paper and is one to note in the betting market.

The drop back to a bare 5f didn't suit ORCHID STREET at Musselburgh last time but this marginally longer trip looks sure to suit judged on her Catterick second over 6f last month and the draw could hardly have been kinder. Boundaries has the plum draw and, along with Crimson Knot, finished ahead of the selection at Catterick but hasn't won as many as he should have and connections stick with the visor. Foghorn Leghorn had things his own way here last time and is unlikely to get the same luxury from the outside stall.

LORD RAGLAN enjoys getting his toe into the ground and may not have stopped improving just yet. He's produced two solid efforts in defeat since winning over this C&D last month and the low draw will help the gelding adopt his customary front-running role. The unexposed Fox Hunt looks the pick of Mark Johnston's duo, while Arlequin seems on a workable mark now but he has never encountered genuinely soft ground and his two turf wins came on good to firm.

Fifty Moore looks capable of making his presence again but preference is for SENSE OF PRIDE. John Gosden's Sadler's Wells filly looked in desperate need of the experience when letting down favourite-backers on her Windsor debut and, given a month off since, she's worth another chance. Maroon is heading the right way and must be considered, while Goodwood third Alubari is related to a string of winners and will no doubt find a race before long.

A tricky race to weigh up but LOWTHER has been anything but disgraced in two starts this autumn since returning from nearly a year on the sidelines and the handicapper has eased him in the ratings. Now only 3lb higher than for his last win, which came over C&D, Alan Bailey's charge could be ready to strike. Docofthebay accounted for a couple of these rivals at Ayr last weekend and remains reasonably treated on his best form, in spite of a 6lb rise. My Kingdom and the well-drawn Golden Shaheen are also hard to ignore.

LEGAL EAGLE has been running consistently well in recent weeks and looks well-berthed to regain the winning thread. Paul Green's gelding backed up his Hamilton success with a sound second over 6f here earlier in the month and he's narrowly preferred to Green Park, who appeared to hit the front a little too soon when eventually finishing third here last month. Great Charm wouldn't be a shock winner either, despite his wide draw.

POWERFUL MELODY won his only start as a juvenile and defied a lengthy lay-off when maintaining his unbeaten record on soft ground at Goodwood earlier this month. Godolphin's Dynaformer colt has clearly had his problems but he remains open to plenty of improvement and a revised mark of 85 may not be enough to stop him here. Bombadero holds excellent claims on the pick of his efforts but will always be vulnerable to less exposed types. Joseph Lister and Dubara Reef could prove next best.
