THEATRE WINE was runner-up on her hurdling debut at Roscommon behind Golden Flowerpower earlier in the month and is more than entitled to improve for both the experience gained and for the step up in distance. The main danger looks to be Rosshaven Lady despite finding winning difficult, while Steak And Spuds makes her racecourse debut and is related to several decent performers.

Mick Jazz makes his debut for Gordon Elliott having looked a talented yet frustrating type for Harry Fry when racing in the UK. The son of Blue Bresil was last seen when pulled up in the Greatwood at Cheltenham behind Old Guard where he was reported to have an irregular heartbeat and he looks a risky proposition despite the switch to another top yard. CRIMINATE ran with promise on his first start over timber at Punchestown when fourth behind Labaik and should improve plenty for that outing. Logical Song is a threat having showed ability on his only run in Ireland, while Russellstown is consistent without winning one of these.

ORCHARD ROAD has been knocking on the door of late for his new connections and this looks to be a good opportunity returning to hurdles with Ruby Walsh taking over in the saddle for the first time. Baily Sunset got off the mark at Kilbeggan on his most recent outing and a 4lb rise in the weights shouldn't stop Mouse Morris' charge from being competitive, while Kiera Royale is consistent and should enter calculations.

With plenty of these struggling for form at the moment it looks wise to side with the hat-trick-seeking BLACKTHORN PRINCE. He beat a couple of consistent types last time out and that performance suggested that there may be more to come from the son of Black Sam Bellamy. Rise Of An Empire is surely better than what he showed at Gowran last time out and he is better judged on his win at Ballinrobe the time before. Rendezvous Peak has been knocking on the door of late and another good run can be expected.

It is hard to oppose MISSY TATA, who was a high-class juvenile hurdler last season and she arrives here race-fit following her win at Limerick a couple of weeks ago. In the battle for second place Vicky's Charm has to be respected on her debut for this yard following her 21,000-pound purchase back in May, while Lily Yeats was an impressive winner of a handicap hurdle at Tramore two starts ago.

LIP SERVICE looked to have the race sewn up prior to his main rival falling at the last at Tramore three weeks ago and that performance confirmed the promise he had sown in novice hurdles last season. Old Castletown has been a beaten favourite in his last two starts but they came in 2m hurdle events and a return to the larger obstacles should suit him. By The Banks and Havana Dancer appear to be the pick of the remainder.

In a tricky contest to close the card the marginal preference is for GOLDFLINCH, who took a big step forward when a close second on his handicap debut earlier in the month and he should remain competitive off a 3lb higher mark. Cloudy Morning is another who filled second place when last seen and that was his second narrow defeat in his last four starts. Others to note are Bellas Rock, Broughtons Star and Flashing Baton.
