MAJESTIC MAID, a winner here at the start of November, may be able to strike again at the venue. Michael Kennedy's charge took her maiden hurdle in good style here before a solid run in a good mares contest at Punchestown last month. She doesn't look harshly treated off a mark of 115 judged on the horses around her last time. Hes A Hardy Bloke tops the weights and comes here in winning form after taking a Punchestown maiden hurdle last month. His mark of 125 doesn't look too harsh either and he's probably the one to beat on form but giving away 10lb to the selection in this ground could be a tough task. Yafordadoe could only finish mid-division in a competitive Leopardstown contest last week but could be given a shout here in what looks an easier task.

GJOUMI looked booked for second when falling at the last on her return at Thurles in late November and is up to winning a race of this standard now. Paul Townend will be hoping the French import settles a bit better now as she was free in the early stages last time and probably paid the price late on. Point-to-point recruit Gentlemansgame could be a danger making his first start for Mouse Morris. He cost 250,000 pounds after winning at Curraghmore in October. The third horse that day, Soldier Of Destiny, wasn't disgraced when fourth in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last month. Curious Bride ran well on her jumps debut here last month, when chasing home Autumn Evening, and getting weight from her elders she also has to come into the mix.

PAT'S PICK has been running in some strong maiden hurdles and deserves to get his head in front now. Noel Meade's charge was no match for Farouk D'alene at Down Royal in late October but that rival was a Grade 2 winner at Limerick the other day. This looks an easier task now. Mercury Lane has also been knocking on the door and is the obvious danger. He chased home Ennemi Public at Tramore last month and his overall form doesn't look as strong as the selection. Another to consider is Velvet Elvis who also finished second last time at Fairyhouse. He was beaten 13 lengths then but it was a solid effort.

A bit of a puzzler here and BON RETOUR may prove the answer for the in-form Willie Mullins team. She drops back in trip now after finishing seventh in a very competitive handicap won easily by recent Grade 1 Flooring Porter at Navan last month. The Fame And Glory mare won over a similar trip to today's in Galway and is tried in a tongue-tie for the first time now. Stablemate Koshari returns from a long absence and may be best watched. Not many of these come into the race with solid recent form. Commentariolus did run well here in November when fourth to Rebel Waltz and could be a big player now.

EXIT TO THE WEST didn't get the run of the race from before the second last fence when losing out be a length at Tramore last time. One could consider themselves a little unfortunate not to collect if they'd been with the 11/8 favourite then, as her path was crossed more than once from when they raced out of the dip. Robert Tyner's mare shouldn't have a whole lot to fear from Mister Butler, Napoleon Blue and Lady McCabe on recent evidence. That 113 rating that he possesses brings Stansfield into it, whilst an interesting chasing first-timer is Casamari Abbey. His half-brother Springtown Lake has won two over the larger obstacles, and last competed in the Rowland Meyrick Chase at Wetherby on St Stephen's Day.

Kevin Brouder has won three on TREACYSENNISCORTHY, and he's back aboard now for the first time since March. Rated fourteen pounds lower in this sphere than he is over hurdles, the Beneficial gelding should be able to take advantage at some stage. It hasn't happened for him yet at Listowel and Navan but one could envisage the nine-year-old hitting on better form with a run or two under his belt. Rivals in form such as Atlantic Shore, Grand Partner, Mega Mindy and Getaday are dangerous. The latter could come forward for the addition of cheek-pieces. Powersbomb won a decent event here in November 2019 and he did finish in front of Treacysenniscorthy last time so is not without a chance.

Angels Dawn was a beaten favourite at Punchestown on New Year's Eve when finishing second behind Humble Glory. It's hard to imagine that she'll be turned out again so quick. California Breeze is probably the most likely of the three newcomers to make an impression, and it'll be a surprise if she's not there or thereabouts for Mrs Harrington, with Finny Maguire in the plate. Cute Cherry needs to come on plenty from her debut effort and it's FEDDANS that gets the nod ahead of Our Miss Power and Back On The Bridle. Feddans was no match for the impressive Take Tea at Naas. She can only come forward for the experience. This one's sister, Sunndans, was placed in a couple of bumpers here in 2019. Meanwhile the selection's connections, John O'Callaghan and Tom Feeney, teamed up for success in a similar event in the past with Elk Bridge.
