NABATI bumped into the subsequent Gimcrack winner Arapaho Gold when second at this level at Newbury in July. Charlie Appleby's colt went one better back in novice company last time and he sets the standard. Forbidden Fire bolted up on her debut at Salisbury and it would be no surprise to see her go well once again, while similar comments apply to Rock Montreal. Varzi is another to make the shortlist.

Nyman struck at Thirsk last Saturday and he's entitled to plenty of respect, but a three-year-old has won this for four of the last six years and CELTIC CHARIOT gets the nod with that in mind. He disappointed when bidding for a hat-trick over C&D last month, but the slowly-run nature of that contest might not have suited him and this ought to unfold differently. Wield, Anthropologist and Quiet Resolve are others of interest.

FINAL OBJECTIVE deservedly got his head in front at Thirsk before producing a career-best performance to finish second in the Gimcrack and while conditions will hold no fears for Hamad Al Jehani's gelding, he is fancied to gain some compensation. The Nunthorpe proved a step too far for Molecomb heroine Pershaada at this stage of her career but she merits respect back in her own age bracket, and so does Sale Shark, who finished behind Pershaada at Glorious Goodwood before claiming Listed honours at the Ebor Festival.

QUEENSTOWN finished third to the reopposing Caballo De Mar in last year's Prix du Cadran on Arc weekend. However, the latter must now shoulder a 5lb penalty and Aidan O'Brien's gelding can turn the tables. He powered clear of his rivals in the Irish St Leger Trial at the Curragh on his return last month and that freshness can stand him in good stead because some of these arrive on the back of a long season. Ffos Las maiden winner Winday is really interesting as he could have lots more to offer.

Having conceded first run, SILVER LAKE impressed with her finishing effort when completing a hat-trick at York last month. William Haggas' filly has yet to taste defeat in three outings in handicap company and she may be able to shrug off a further 6lb rise. Ruby Wedding has scored on her last two turf outings and is clearly heading in the right direction. The Sea The Moon filly is feared most, ahead of equally likeable sorts Nochebuena and Salamanca City.

Although foiled in her opening bid when a close-up second at Sandown, VICTORIA NIGHT impressed with her cruising speed. Richard Hannon's filly should relish this flatter track and she should put her experience to good use. Karl Burke has enjoyed a fantastic season with his juveniles and market confidence behind 750,000gns purchase She's Got A Way would need respecting, with Antonova also making plenty of appeal on paper.

Henley On Thames is progressing nicely and a 4lb rise for denying Super Tuscan in such a competitive nursery at the Ebor Festival appears lenient. Even so, this race is full of unexposed handicap debutants, including Tumishi, who made hard work of landing the odds at Ffos Las, and LAUNCH SEQUENCE. Karl Burke's colt made the frame at Glorious Goodwood before running with credit in the Convivial over a 7f trip that probably stretched him. An initial mark of 85 is definitely workable, although Pride Of Toledo, Beresford Gap, Sir Sirius and Baddaddan also start nursery life off handy ratings and form part of a long shortlist.

Something Splendid was awarded a division of this race 12 months ago and returns on the back of a narrow Yarmouth triumph. A 5lb penalty does him no favours, though, nor does a 5lb hike for Pontefract winner Spirit Genie, and FANS FAVOURITE might have more room for manoeuvre following a 4lb rise for his Beverley success because he is still only a three-year-old. Almekarem is actually 1lb well-in, with a slight increase for his Epsom second not quite coming into effect yet, so he must be feared.
