Russellstown is a proven performer in these types of events, having made the frame on multiple occasions, and he looks sure to be thereabouts once again this afternoon. That said, he can be taken on with CAPTAIN BOCELLI, who beat a useful rival on his racecourse debut in May 2015 but he did not go on from that in two starts later than year. The son of Kayf Tara makes his debut for Gordon Elliott today and it would be no surprise to see him take this race on the way to bigger objectives. Any market support for Mahler Ten on debut would have to be noted.

CANNY TOM may have been booked for a place when he came down at the last at Perth last time out, but he would not have been beaten that far and he should be capable of picking up a race of this nature from his current mark. Neddyvaughan and Tintown Robin also feature on the shortlist having made the frame in their most recent starts, while Ballyfinboy bids to exploit a 19lb lower mark over hurdles compared to his chase rating.

BALLELA BOY showed plenty of ability in bumpers last season and he only narrowly found a race-fit rival too good on his hurdles debut last month. With the benefit of that run under his belt the son of Golan can break his duck over obstacles this afternoon. Forever Dylan arrives here having finished second in back-to-back races over C&D in recent weeks and he could prove to be the main danger. However, Brightest Flame cost 72,000 euro as a store and he is a full-brother to the high-class staying chaser Wounded Warrior.

TEACHER'S PET has been in consistent enough form on her last couple of starts and this looks an easier task than she encountered at Navan last month despite being 1lb higher in the weights. Cairnshill looks to hold solid claims on his recent efforts over in the UK, while Tb Broke Her should benefit from a drop back down in distance having not looked to see out 3m last time.

GONE PLATINUM makes the most appeal on his chasing debut coming from a yard that does exceptionally well with its novice chasers in Henry De Bromhead and he possessed a decent enough level of form over timber for this kind of contest. Antiphony was a good second on chase debut and is entitled to build on that performance here, while Oighear Dubh could improve now tackling the larger obstacles.

Although CAPTURE THE DRAMA was disappointing when favourite last time at Clonmel, the three month break should have helped the son of Dushyantor as he didn't look to appreciate the quick turnaround after an easy win two starts ago at Killarney. Galboystown Lady has yet to win under rules but does perform consistently and has to go on the shortlist along with Sean Airgead and Polish Partisan.

DOUNIKOS showed a fair amount of improvement when runner-up at Ballinrobe in May behind Middlebrow and the son of Smadoun could well have improved for a summer break in what appears to be a fairly modest contest. Bridge Native is a threat on his recent Tramore effort with Patrick Mullins booked, while All's Quiet finished a couple of lengths behind Dot Love's charge and should prove best of the remainder.
