The majority have considerable experience of the all-weather surface with C&D winner KISS THE STARS only a tentative choice in a wide-open affair. One of two McCourt entries, the mare is well berthed in stall four and was impressive here in January when accounting for the useful Primo Uomo. She gets on well with talented claimer Killian Leonard and has dropped to a feasible mark of 59. Danz Gift is a tempting option and may well have been the choice but for his stall 14 draw, while A Likely Story, Born Innocent and Fast In The Wind are all respected.

Many of these have strong claims but none more so than CHICLET, who is a five-time course and distance winner and she has only been out of the first three once in 10 starts at this track. Last time out she easily accounted for Primo Uomo and, due the latter's recent success here, the selection meets that rival at the same weight difference today. The progressive Tithonus and Lady Mega both merit each-way consideration, while Ostatnia is another who cannot be discounted.

JOHN HONEYMAN ran a decent race on debut when fifth at the Curragh behind Arcada and the son of Dark Angel can take a step forward from that performance here, with the surface no issue whatsoever. Bective looks the main danger on the form he showed in a nursery at the Curragh last month, while Thomas O'malley was third on debut behind subsequent Coventry Stakes third Psychedelic Funk and will be suited by the extra furlong.

A typically wide open contest at this venue and marginal preference is for GREAT WIDE OPEN to claim victory once more after his recent impressive Roscommon success last month. The four-year-old looks progressive and a 5lb rise might not be enough to prevent a follow up. De Coronado has scope for improvement and must be feared for the all-conquering Ballydoyle team, while Indrahar's latest run can be ignored and he represents a team who do very well at this venue.

FLOWERHILL NOVA is rated 83 on official figures and looks the one to beat if running to his rating. Andrew Slattery's charge is a model of consistency and shaped as if a return to 7f would suit when third over 6f at Naas, when beaten by under a length, last month. The main danger may be Aidan O'Brien's four-year-old Cenotaph, who returns from a long absence but ran to a decent level of form at the Curragh when last sighted last summer. Green Or Black could step up on her debut run and has place possibilities.

WAR ROOM has a good record here and arrives in better form than the majority of his rivals, with his recent runner-up efforts reading particularly well in the context of this race. He's taken to defy top weight and land a fifth course victory. Matriarch, far better the last day, will go close if repeating her close second to My Painter at Bellewstown, while Felix Gold and Red All Star are also of interest, the latter especially so if the money comes for him on his first run for a new yard. Twistsandturns has dropped to a potentially interesting mark too.

SAPPHIRINE won over 1m on Polytrack in France and remains open to further improvement for this yard on her fourth outing in Ireland. The manner in which she kept on for fifth over 7f at Roscommon last time suggests the return to 1m could be ideal this afternoon. Manorov and Six Silver Lane have place claims on their best form, though Henry De Bromhead's three-year-old Windsorlot and Danse Rouge, who drops back from 1m4f, are considered bigger threats.

A very tricky contest to close the card but the preference is for DARKYILA, who remains thoroughly unexposed and this step up in trip should not be a problem for her. She contested a competitive heat at Galway on her handicap debut and she should improve for that experience, while a 4lb drop in the ratings also helps her chances. Prince Charmin' is another who may have more to offer this afternoon, while Sir Raston looks to be a danger to all based upon his C&D win back in March.
