DILIGENT finally broke his maiden tag over hurdles at Newton Abbot last month after recording a comfortable success. The eight-year-old has to concede weight to all his rivals on this occasion but he gets the vote to add another victory to his career tally. Battle March hinted at promise in bumpers and he looks to be the chief threat returning from a short break, while Raased is one to note on his NH debut.

PUFFIN BAY was a convincing winner when landing a bumper at Stratford in August. The daughter of Blue Bresil hails from a strong NH family and she gets the vote to strike on her hurdling debut. Karlie is an interesting contender and is one to note for any market support after wind surgery, while Blue Collar Glory and Maroochi also merit respect.

SIZING AT MIDNIGHT returned to form when recording an encouraging second-placed effort at Uttoxeter last month. The nine-year-old remains 5lb below his last winning mark and he gets the vote to build on his latest performance. Zoffee is steadily slipping down the handicap and makes the shortlist, while it will be interesting to see how Paricolor fares, as David Pipe's charge was making hay in selling hurdles when last sighted in the spring.

SERGEANT travelled like the best horse in the race at Sedgefield last time and duly obliged. That win came in a conditionals' race so he is unpenalised in this and could make it three wins in his last four starts here. Shanandoa has been running respectably since winning back-to-back races in June and has dropped to a mark just 1lb higher than when last successful, while Bagan won well in selling company two starts ago and could fare better than last time dropped back in trip.

GERARD MENTOR chased home Sergeant to finish second at Newton Abbot last time and if the winner of that race runs well in the first division it will only serve to enhance the claims of Kim Bailey's charge in this. Right Destination has struggled recently but has dropped to a very workable mark, while Serjeant Painter is up 5lb for winning a novices' handicap at Stratford and could go well.

STORM HOME arrives in pursuit of a third successive victory and the in-form nine-year-old gets the nod to achieve that feat after winning decisively at Uttoxeter last time out. Rhythm Is A Dancer has been in fine form this campaign, recording three wins from four outings, and he rates the most immediate danger. Umndeni is unexposed over fences and may follow them home.

GUINNESS AFFAIR has relished the switch to obstacles, landing both of his starts in decisive fashion, and an opening mark of 117 may underestimate his ability. The five-year-old gets the nod, while Get Back Get Back may be able to mount a bold challenge off 1lb lower than his last winning mark. Celestial Force has been a consistent gelding of late and merits respect off 2lb lower than his latest outing.
