Paul Nicholls has won the last two runnings of this race and his point-to-point winner, That'lldoboy, is likely to prove a warm order first time under NH rules, but slight preference is for HIGHLAND VALLEY from the Emma Lavelle yard. This Flemensfirth gelding was reportedly being aimed at the Aintree bumper last season after making a winning debut in that sphere at Wincanton and he is sure to have been intensively schooled. Daring Origyn, with the benefit of a recent run, could feature.

SCOTSBROOK CLOUD will be strongly fancied to extend his winning sequence. David Evans' progressive gelding showed no signs of his winning run coming to an end when scoring cosily over 3m at Haydock last Thursday and, with that being a conditional jockeys' race, he gets in off the same mark today. Victors Serenade has to shoulder a 7lb penalty for his recent C&D success but should go close nonetheless while Kathleens Pride, another C&D winner, has to be respected on his return to action.

This could prove a match between VORAMAR TWO and Watamu Bay who represent yards that have won the last four runnings of this race between them. The latter has the benefit of a recent outing (behind one of Voramar Two's stablemates) and must go close, but Philip Hobbs' chasing debutant edges the vote. He was impressive in a couple of hurdle wins last season before the wheels fell off in a Grade 1 contest at Aintree in April and fences should bring out the best in him. Plunkett looks next best.

Paul Nicholls introduced Take The Breeze to make a winning debut over fences in this race last year and ROYAL CHARM is taken to repeat the dosage. This well-regarded gelding won two hurdle races at the track last season and has always looked as though a fence would be the making of him. South O'The Border ran subsequent Jewson winner, Copper Bleu, to 1 1/4-lengths on his latest chase outing over C&D in February and he rates the biggest threat ahead of Philip Hobbs' Belcantista.

Receiving lumps of weight off all these rivals, WHATCANISAY appears to have been found the perfect opportunity to break his duck over fences. The 11-year-old is entitled to strip fitter for his comeback run at Uttoxeter last month and a repeat of his second at Worcester previously is sure to see him bang there. Robbers Bridge doesn't have many miles on the clock and could improve to feature on his chasing debut, while Monmoon looks best of the remaining trio.

WAY BACK THEN has yet to finish out of the frame in five starts under NH rules and will be fancied to break her duck here. Alan King's mare stepped up on a promising hurdling debut when runner-up over 2m at Towcester last month and that first run since May is entitled to have brought her on. Dun See Dee won readily on her NH debut in a bumper at Cork in April and she commands respect on her first run over timber for new connections, while Mi Money looks a lively outsider.
