It is very hard to oppose LITTLE MISS POET, following her impressive win at Market Rasen earlier in the month. The daughter of Yeats was a useful bumper performer last season and she has been found a very weak race to carry a penalty in today. The main threat would appear to be Cascaye, but she has plenty to find to beat the selection, while Llantara is another to note.
Impossible to oppose LITTLE MISS POET who should have little difficulty adding to her recent Market Rasen success. Cascaye was beaten a long way into third on her Ayr hurdling debut but still looks the obvious one for the forecast spot ahead of Llantara.

A highly-competitive contest and it is hard to rule out most of the participants, but the marginal preference is for SHAAMA GRISE. The David Pipe-trained mare finished behind Bobble Boru two starts ago but that was her UK debut and she should improve past that rival today, considering how impressive she was when successful at Chepstow last time. The two that standout are Label Des Obeaux and WILD WEST WIND, with the latter getting the nod on today's terms. The eight-year-old remains lightly raced for a horse of his age and he has proven himself to be a consistent performer. Label Des Obeaux is another whose consistency has to be admired and the strength of his form suggests that there should be races in him from a mark of 137. Herbert Park has been disappointing over fences but it is too soon to be writing him off.
WILD WEST WIND has looked a natural since his attentions have been turned to chasing and, having had much more up his sleeve than the winning margin suggested at Hereford last time, should have no trouble defying a small rise to maintain his unbeaten record in this discipline. Label des Obeaux is the likely biggest threat, though a return to form from In The Rough wouldn't be a great surprise.

Another competitive renewal of this valuable heat but a chance can be taken with SPOOKYDOOKY, who has been given a big chance by the handicapper. The son of Winged Love arrives here 8lb below his last winning mark and 15lb below the rating off which he was fourth in last year's Midlands Grand National. He has not been at his best so far this season but the Jonjo O'Neill yard (who have taken this race three times in the last eight years) has hit form in recent weeks and this one could be primed for a big run. West Of The Edge has been much improved in recent months and a 6lb rise for his latest win over fences may still underestimate his ability. Others to make the shortlist are Barton Gift, Mountainous, Theatrical Star and Woodford County.

CHANCE TAKEN was a good second over C&D two starts ago behind Martha McCandles and, on that performance, would have leading claims off a 2lb higher mark. Tobacco Road should benefit from David Noonan's 3lb claim on some of his form earlier in the season, while Goonjim should appreciate a drop in trip having travelled strongly at Bangor last time before looking a non-stayer.
The manner in which GOONJIM travelled for a long way at Bangor last month suggests he can win off his basement mark and he's expected to take a bit of stopping back down in trip. David Pipe's Tobacco Road fared best of those ridden close up when fourth in a big field at Taunton last time and should go well, while Chance Taken has been consistent in similar events this term.
